NEIRA
I WOKE UP to the sound of my alarm clock blaring in my ear. I groaned and reached over to hit snooze, but then I remembered—today was the first day of the new semester at Kenjou University.
I vividly recall the IQ exam that was administered to the entire Kenjou campus just before the end of the first semester. There were rumors that all courses were required to take it, and even though I typically left early to go home, I found myself staying at school until the afternoons because of this mysterious exam. I wondered about its purpose and why it was mandatory for all students, regardless of their major.
As I reached for my phone and unlocked it, my attention was immediately drawn to the email notification. It flashed on my screen, demanding my attention with its bold presence. I felt a surge of curiosity as I tapped on the notification, eager to see what awaited me in my inbox.
Subject: Invitation to a Meeting
Dear Selected Students,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to invite you to a meeting that will be held on Monday, April 25th, at 2:00 pm in the Room 606. Don't be late!
Please RSVP to this email to confirm your attendance.
I look forward to seeing you all on Monday.
Sincerely,
Professor Collins
Hindi ko alam kung para saan ba 'tong meeting na 'to, siguro may nabagsak ata akong subject last sem? Or may nagreport sa'kin na umiinom ako ng shake sa library? Nakalagay lang kasi selected student kaya feeling ko na tungkol ata 'to sa grades or something like that.
I quickly got ready, trying to shake off my nerves. I had heard rumors about Professor Collins' unorthodox teaching methods, and I wasn't sure what to expect.
I checked today's date, and it is already April 25, Monday. Then, I looked at my schedule to see if I have a class at 2:00 pm later; it seems that my class only goes until lunchtime.
When I was done reading the contents of the email, I immediately replied for attendance.
No to puyat tayo ngayon.
When I arrived at the university, I immediately went to Room 301, where my 10 a.m. class in Communication Skills in English would be held. I am a second-year English Literature college student.
