Sirius didn't think he could feel more annoyance to his younger brother regulus. Talking shit behind his back? Even that was an old time low for regulus, and that says something. Sirius felt so confused, sure they don't tell eachother everything, but that doesn't mean that he has to go behind his back and talk about him. All this is doing to sirius is slowly breaking down his reputation that he had to work so hard to build up, especially after he ran away, the newspaper was full of how the Ex-Black Heir that was a run-away. How he was an ungrateful brat, and nothing more than a fag. Sirius knew he had to leave, all those in his year understood too. Sirius was a victim of heavy abuse. And to what he knew, regulus was treated so wonderfully, while sirius screamed in pain getting cruactias curse, one after another, everyday regulus just stood by and watched. He still remembered the day he showed up to James house, broken and bloodied. How he finally got the love that he though Regulus got. And now all his brother is doing is talking about him, Sirius doesn't exactly know what he's saying, but he knows it's something bad, the way the slytherins look at him, death glares burning into his soul. And god was he sick of it.

Regulus stormed down the corridors, anger boiled in his body. He knew he fucked up, talking about his brother to his so-called friends, who then twisted his words and started rumors. Regulus just wanted the love his brother showed him back. He was exhausted of feeling like he was the rutted out one. The day sirius left, he felt hell dip through his shoulders, the way he had to become the new black heir. He felt like shit. He hated it. The scars that formed his body, the ones he hid behind his robes that's were getting bigger on him by the day. He wanted his brother back, and he was angry.

Sirius stormed the halls, trying to let off steam. Remus tried all morning to calm him down, combing his finger through his hair, humming to him, reading out loud to him. But nothing worked, sirius was beyond the ability to stay clam and remus knew in order for him to calm down Sirius needed to talk to his brother, remus prayed that this would solve it, the last time he'd seen sirius like this he fell into a deep depression, the only time his anger boiled this much is when the article was posted about him.

Sirius rounded the corning running into a man in slytherin robes, "watch where youre going" The slytherin spitted out. Sirius went to look at him before realizing who he was, it was Regulus Black, his brother who he was so close to giving him a black eye. "Regulus"sirius growled out. Regulus looked him in the eye, his body posture stating that he was calm, but the way his eye arrowed in, sirius knew that his brother was angry, no not angry, he was pissed off. And when regulus took his hands out of his pockets his hand were balled into fist ready to fight anyone close.

"Regulus.."sirius spat the word out of his mouth as though it eas venom
"What the actual fuck do you want?!" regulus whisper-yelled, not wanting the school to be let in on the drama, even if the corridor was an abandoned one.
"What the hell is wrong with you?! Talking shit about me behind my back? That fkn low regulus even for a filthy slytherin like you." regulus took a step back, a look of shock spread across his face, before his hands went up pulling at his curly hair, making his scalp burn. Regulus looked psychotic, and it didnt help when a small chuckle escaped his mouth, slowly turning into a harsh laugh, shocking sirius. Sirius could help but back up, his brother was acting scarily like his father. Maybe he was as cruel as his father was, maybe he was pathetic..

"Me?! What do i want-"he paused to let out a long laugh "Oh my god- what do i want? I didnt know you could even think about what I want? Oh my god i cant believe you.. Sirius Black, the runaway caring about his little brother now?! After all the years since he left?" Regulus knew he sounded hysterical, like he should be locked away in azkaban for his unruly behavior, but he didnt care it felt good watching sirius fall apart reminising on what he did.

"What are you taking about?! Are you fkn insane?"

"Am i insane?! Oh my god sirius you know this. You left me remember you left me with satan himself. You made me go through helll you peice of sh!t, You. Left. Me. "

"I had to leave Regulus! I had to!"

Regulus looked at him his eyes rimmed red from tears, Sirius looked up into his brothers eyes, an expression of shock etching his face, Regulus Black was not a cryer, he had never even seen regulus cry until now. He knew he mustve hurt regulus bad, but sirius couldn't help but not feel a care in the word, his brother he used to know was gone, the one he knew now was cruel, heartless. The regulus he once knew was corrupted by his parents leaving him to be evil, a pathetic deatheater at most. Bt someting inside of him was still holding on to the hope that his brother was still good inside, sirius knew he'd never hate his brother no matter how hard he tried.

Sirius advanced forward taking a quick step, not going unnoticed by regulus. "Did you just flinch..?"sirius demanded, but voice going soft, the way regulus eyes traveled through him, it was the same look sirius had given his friends for years before he came to trust them. the look that debated if the next move was going to result in pain. if the way they looked would tell him how worthless he really was. and sirius, dammit sirius felt his whole world crumble in. the people he was so scared of the people he couldn't even call family anymore, he was acting the same as them, it runs in you blood, sirius, you're a black SO ACT LIKE IT. The memory sent shivers down his spine.

"what did they do to you." sirius said demanding an answer. his previous suspicions that a regulus was a no good spoiled brat who was treated as top class was gone, he knew deep down something bad had happened to his brother

sirius couldn't keep in his emotions
regulus couldn't let them out

that's why they ended up where they are

sirius left becuase he had somewhere to go he had someone worth seeing
regulus stayed because he had no one
the only home he knew was where he was

sirius talked loud to get rid of the voices in his head
regulus stood silent letting walls build around his throat

sirius could run away because his family hated him anyway
regulus had to stay because his family counted on him

sirius left because he learned to not care about his family
regulus stayed because he held onto the hope that one day he'll hear the words come out of his mothers mouth "i'm proud of you"

sirius left because he had friends who loved him more
regulus stayed because he loved them and for him that's all that mattered. he could take the pain, the trauma, the blood, the tears of it meant someone would love him,

And Sirius finally saw it, he saw the boy that had been broken by the same people he had once called family. and that hurt.
