"Kay, Riles, we're gonna get ready, meet the boys for dinner, then go." I said, plopping down on my bed. "I'm gonna put a couple braids in our hair, get us some cool outfits, then makeup." Riley sat down next to me. "I don't know Maya. I have a bad feeling about this." She said. "You had a bad feeling about going to a beach with the boys last summer. And you and look how that went." I told her.

"Lucas was very happy." She said dreamily. I laughed at her. I got up and looked in my closet. I pulled out a purple, tight, knee length dress with a loose skirt and spaghetti straps. "You, are wearing this." I said. "That looks weird." She said. I rolled my eyes and threw the dress at her. "Go change." I pulled her off the bed and pushed her in the closet. She sighed and shut the door.

She came out and slapping her arms to her side. "You look awesome." I said. "Go find something to wear so I don't feel weird." She mumbled. "Okay. Do your makeup, then I'll finish your eyes."

I walked into my closet and shut the door behind me. I pulled a tight, dark red dress off the hanger and threw it on. I felt like it made me look bad, but I knew I looked fine. I grabbed my black leather jacket and tall black boots. I look good enough, I thought.

"Peaches!" Riley screamed. "Come on, I'm gonna go grab my brush from the kitchen. Stay here." I told her.

I walked out of my room and into the kitchen. "Why do you look like that?" I heard. I turned around and saw Shawn. "Hey," I dragged. "Whatcha doing here?" He laughed. "I live here kiddo." I nodded. "Right."

"So, care to explain?" He asked. "I'm going to a party tonight, remember?" He closed his eyes. "I do remember, but, don't you think you're a little young for that?" He said. "Dad. I'm gonna be sixteen next week." I rolled my eyes and picked up the hairbrush. "I know. But I've only known you for a few years. Sometimes I still see you as that sweet little twelve year old." I hugged him. He put his head on mine and leaned into the hug. "I love you kiddo."
"I love you too, dad."

I spun Riley around to look at the mirror. "And done!" I yelled after doing her hair and makeup. "I'm gonna do myself real quick, then we're good!" I said.

I did light makeup, but heavy on the eyes. I did a few braids throughout my hair to add details, then I was finished.

"Bye mom! Bye dad! We'll be back by 1:30 at latest."

"Ok, have fun, we love you." Mom called from the kitchen.

She doesn't care that we are going to a party. The Matthews care a little more. That's why we are at my house.

We left to go meet the boys for dinner. We went to a small cafe about ten minutes walking from my house.

After a nice dinner, we started the fifteen minute walk to the party

"My feet hurt." I whined. Wearing my tallest strap up heels probably wasn't the best idea. "Keep walking. Girls are such babies." Zay said. I punched him. "Ow!" He screeched. "Who's a baby now?" I asked as we approached the house where the party was.

"Hey kids. Come on in." One of the juniors greeted us. "Gladly." I said.

As the night went on, I started to feel more and more young. Well, not young. But like the person I was when I was young.
