When she found the time, Nina had promised to tell Matthias about the mission. Inej couldn't help but feel uneasy about the mission, but she knew that they had to go along with it. Without saying a word, Nina and Inej left the room.

Jesper watched them go, feeling a twinge of sadness as they disappeared. He sighed knowing it was getting late, and he shouldn't be sitting in the living room. He stood up making his way over to the couch in the dorm, watching how Wylan slept so peacefully on the couch. Saints, he thought. I really shouldn't be watching this boy sleep. It's creepy.

He wanted to leave Wylan sleeping there for the night, but he couldn't do that. It would be rude and though he might look peaceful and happy. Jesper knew that the couch isn't the best place to sleep for the night. So, he did the one thing he could do.

He picked up Wylan like a baby and carried him to his room.

Jesper was surprised by how light Wylan was for his age. While then at the same time, he wasn't. Wylan didn't look like quite a large boy. He looked fragile and sweet. People wouldn't believe it if he said he is Jan Van Eck's son.

The Zemini boy kicked open the door of Wylan's' bedroom to find so much of Nina and Inej's stuff that they have left behind. Jesper walked over to the other boy's bed, placing him down on it. He was relieved that Wylan hadn't woken up yet. But I guess I had spoken too soon because once Jesper put the blanket over the boy, tucking him in, Wylan woke up, asking what time it was.

"It is still very late, you can continue sleeping," Jesper said with such a sweet, quiet voice. Wylan didn't respond but nodded.

But before Jesper left the room, Jesper complimented Wylan on the purple and yellow nail polish on his fingers. "I like your nails; it looks nice on you. Good night, Wylan. If you need anything, feel free to knock on my door."

As Jesper walked out, Wylan couldn't help but smile. Even though he was still half-asleep, he felt warm and happy inside. He thought that he was lucky to have friends like Nina, Inej, and Jesper. He felt as if he had people who care. people who understand.

Wylan's thoughts slowly drifted away as his eyes fluttered shut. Causing him to go back to sleep.

(The Next Morning)

Jesper woke up in a cold sweat, gasping for air. He had been having these strange dreams for the past few days, and they were starting to take a toll on him. He couldn't quite figure out whose voice it was that kept whispering his name, but he knew he wanted it to stop.

He tried to shake off the feeling of dread that had settled over him and sat up in bed. The room was dark, and he couldn't see a thing. He tried to stand up, but his legs felt like jelly, and he stumbled.

"Jesper... Jesper!" he heard the voice again, and it sounded like it was getting closer. He tried to run, but it felt like he was running in slow motion. The voice kept calling out to him, and he felt like he was being pulled toward it.

And then, suddenly, he woke up. He was in his bed, and Wylan was standing over him, looking concerned.

"Are you okay?" Wylan asked.

Jesper took a deep breath and nodded. "Yeah, I think so," he said, his voice shaking a little. "It was just a bad dream." Wylan nodded slowly, he then hesitated but sat down on the edge of the bed and put a hand on Jesper's shoulder. "Do you want to talk about it?" he asked gently.
