Prologue
Elmore, February 2051
It was a typical summer day in the city of Elmore – the heat of the sun intensely beating down the gaggles of people frantically attempting to reach their varying destinations; the businessmen to their offices, the students to their schools, the storeowners opening up their shops, and those random groups of people who have nowhere to go. Everything is the way it should be – everything is fine.
It was at exactly 12:04 in the afternoon when the first explosion occurred. People were not giving a care to what others were doing – the city was a frenzy of people minding their own businesses. Then it happened. The first explosion that was quickly followed by the next. Then the next. Then the next.
The deafening sound of the explosion resonated throughout the streets of Elmore, followed by the frantic screaming and shouting of those who did not blow up into several pieces due to the explosion. It was horrifying, how the events turned out; one second, people were strolling the streets, walking their dogs, going to their offices, then the next second, everything was destroyed beyond any recognition, wrecked by the havoc that occurred in that same second.
It was mayhem.
Thousands were dead. Tens of thousands were dying if not for the injuries sustained during the explosion, then from the starvation that was quick to follow. The aftermath was much worse than the destruction itself; the shockwave and the radiation that immediately followed after the explosion destroyed everything within a thousand-mile radius: homes, infrastructures, livestock, everything.
It was hell on Earth.
Unbeknownst to everyone, the explosions did not just happen in Elmore. It happened all over the world, except in Kronus, which was the country that instigated all the attacks throughout the map. Nighthaven, Frostwood, Stormguarde, Riverrun, all of those cities, bombed, destroyed, turned to ashes.
It was the extinction of human race.
It was their end.
Or so they thought.
