TWENTY-THREE

Cain

Everything was so fucked.

They had to sedate Finnick. He was is so much pain and I felt it all in my heart.

"Cain."

I heard my fathers voice but I didn't look at him. I only stared at Finnick.

"Cain. We need to talk."

"What are we gonna do?" I whisper

I feel my dad place his hand on my shoulder.

"He got bit. By a rouge Alpha. What the fuck are we going to do? We don't know how long he's going to be out for, what are we going to tell his father?"

"I will send men to go get him. Bring him here and explain it all to him-"

"No I will go." I say

I look down at Finnick. He was so pale and he looked not like my Finnick.

"Be honest dad. Is he going to turn?" I ask looking at my dad

My dad looks down at Finnick.

"If he survives." My dad whispers

I look down at Finnick, tears threatening to spill.

Dad walks over and presses his hand to Finnick's cheek.

"Be strong son, my boy needs you." He whispers

My dad pats my shoulder and walks out of the room, leaving me alone with my mate.

I stand from the chair I was sitting in and I kiss Finn's forehead.

"Please pull through baby." I whisper

I walk out of the room and go to find Dr. White.

I open Leo's door and see him and Conner sitting on the bed watching tv.

"Conner do you know where Dr. White went?" I ask

"Front desk." He says

"Thanks bud." I say

I walk up to the front desk and see Dr. White going through paper work.

"Dr. White." I say

She turns to me and gives me a sad smile.

"How're you holding up?" She asks

I shake my head and run a hand through my hair.

"I need to go speak with Finnick's father. I don't even know what I'm going to say." I say

"Would it be alright if I came along? Maybe it would help if I explained his condition."  She offers

"I think that would be helpful. Thank you doctor." I say

She nods and smiles.

"I'm going to head over there soon. Can you meet me in the parking garage In twenty?" I ask

"Of course."

I give her a small smile and walk back to the main pack house to find my mother.

"Karmas a bitch huh?"

I turn to the voice.

"What?" I say

Jordan smirks at me.

"I guess if your precious Luna dies there's always me. We can resume our life. The way it's supposed to be." 

He walks towards me and goes to place his hand on my chest but I grab his wrists tightly.
