"MOMMA DADDY IM HOME" I just got home from school but my house seemed empty which was not normal especially on a Monday

Mondays are our busy days and everybody gets home around the same time my dad gets home first then my mom then me but I don't see anybody "momma daddy are y'all here" a few seconds later I hear footsteps coming down the stairs

"I'm right here Boo" I heard my dad say so I follow his voice into the kitchen "hey daddy where's mom" he huffed and ran a hand over his face "me and your mom got into a small back and forth this morning so she's gonna go stay with Aunt Janell to get her mind right"

I nodded "I know I heard" he raised an eyebrow "my old alarm went off for school and I found not point in going back to sleep just for me to wake right back up so I decided to get some breakfast only to hear you and mom arguing about me

And dad I wanna be completely transparent with you I love god and I worship him everyday but when it's time for me to go to college I wanna go to Florida and if momma makes me stay here I'm just gonna be another one of y'all's kids that don't talk to her in the future I'm sorry"

My dad then came around the island and hugged me "i know baby but you don't have to worry about staying here your about to be a grown woman soon and I know we can't have you on a leash forever just promise me if anything happens you'll never have a heavy heart towards you momma"

I nodded "I promise" he squeezed my tighter then he kissed my forehead walking back around the island "so now that's out the was how was your first day of school I know it's probably not what your use to" I nodded

"It was interesting to say the least but speaking of school reminds me that I need gym clothes they said I can bring my own which I don't have or we can buy them from the store or school"

He nodded "where do you wanna get them from" I chuckled "definitely not the school but I did talk to the gym teacher I need breathable clothes so I need a pair of shorts for inside,tight,and leggings

Then I need a hoodie or sweat shirt for outside and two shorts sleeves that's sound like a lot" she shook his head "not really because we can go to a store and get all this stuff for cheap at Willows it was things with the school logo on it

I spent 1300 on your uniform alone 40 dollars on gym clothes won't break me" I giggled "yeah the school is not as good as Willows brook but it's still beneficial the only downside is the lunch it looks like dog food or I'm probably just picky but either way I'm not consuming it

Which is why I'm starving what's you gonna make me" my dad looked up at me with a funny face and said "girl what's wrong with your body I just got off from a 12 hour shift I'm tired"

"Well mom normally has a late lunch ready but she's not here so I would be assuming cooking duty just tricked down" my dad fake flinch at me making me laugh "girl hell nah how about we go out to eat"

I loved when it was just me and my dad sometimes it gave us space to be normal and not stuck up church folks all the time "yeah I like that but your driving come on old man" I said as I tossed my dad the keys

*time jump*
"Yeah she didn't leave permanently just temporarily she's extra mad at my dad right now" I've been home for a few hours now be myself so I invited Evie over which she gladly did come over

Now I'm telling her what happened "like for what though he has a point I just wish my mom would see it how your dad does my dad is completely fine with me going to Florida to"

I shrugged "maybe it's because my mom got pregnant at a young age or maybe she doesn't want me to make mistakes but if I make mistakes now I'm less likely to mess up more in college or in the real world"

She nodded "our moms just don't get it I guess you know 90% of college demand students stay on campus so even if we did stay in Maryland we would have to stay on school ground so

Staying in the city or not they won't be able to watch us then lord knows what we might so" I nodded "I know but let's change the subject so how do you like our new school so far do you love it"

I said jokingly "yeah right a boy in my third period started calling me prep school then the work is to easy the only upside about the school is the attractive people their even though they need Jesus"

I nodded "I know right one of my teacher made fun of my button down and sweater vest like I would have thought the teacher would be more professional but nope everyone in their acts the same

So I guess we are just gonna have to try and fit in well not fit in more like blend in" Evie raised an eyebrow "and how would we do that" I smiled "now that my mom is not here for a while my dad had to go take me shopping for gym clothes but I somehow convinced him to by me new clothes

I brought a bodysuit jumper thingy,3 pairs of holy jeans,and two of them belly shirts I just can't let me momma see them" Evie smiled "I already have clothes like that's that I designed so that's how we are dressed tomorrow"
