A few days went by and the time arrived for us to leave.
We had breakfast with the professor and Mrs. Macready. She was scolding us about smashing a window with the croquet ball.
"We truly are sorry." Peter said.
"We really are sorry. It's my fault, Mrs. Macready." Edmund confessed.
"And another thing-"
Mrs. Macready was cut off by the professor.
"That is enough. They said they were sorry."
Mrs. Macready kept her mouth shut as she continued to eat her breakfast.
I tried to hid my smile as Mrs. Macready glared at me. After breakfast, we packed our things and we waited near the door as we waited for Mrs. Macready to arrive.
"Ready?" Mrs. Macready asked as she approached us.
"I suppose." I replied.
"Good, then let's go." She said.
With that we got into the carriage and she dropped us off at the train station where the train was waiting for us.
"Let's all sit in the same compartment." Peter suggested.
With that we got on the train with our things and we walked into an empty compartment.
I got a window seat and Xavier was sitting across from me next to Susan while I was sitting next to Peter.
I then told Xavier about Mrs. Burkes and how she'll adopt the both of us.
"What if she doesn't like me?" Xavier asked me.
"Don't be ridiculous." I replied."She'll like you, especially once she knows your my brother."
He smiled."I hope so."
"She's great!" I exclaimed."I see her as a grandmother."
"You do?" Xavier asked me.
"She was the only one I had all those years while in London." I explained."I had no friends and no one liked me..."
"That must be terrible." Susan said.
"Yeah, but I'm glad I met you all." I replied.
"We're glad we met you as well." Peter said.
"I understand how you felt, Sabrina." Xavier confessed."Mother didn't allow me to leave the castle at all once you left. Everywhere I went in the castle I was always accompanied by a servant or by Maugrim."
"That sounds like a drag." Edmund retorted.
"You had no idea." Xavier replied.
We all laughed at his words. I wore a sad smile. I hope this wasn't the last time that we would be together like this.
Even though the Pevensies were only my friends, I began to view them as my family and they did as well.
We soon arrived in London and we got off the train. The Pevensies all gave me and Xavier hugs.
"Take care." Peter said.
"And don't forget to write to us." Susan added.
"You too, and we will write to you guys." I replied.
Lucy looked teary eyed as she gave me another hug. I wore a sad smile as I pulled away.
"Does this mean goodbye?" Lucy asked.
"Lucy, we will see each other again." I replied."But it is not a goodbye, because that means forgetting. Do not forget us, Lucy the Valiant."
She smiled."I could not ever, Sabrina the Wise and Helpful, nor could I ever forget Xavier the Strong."
We smiled at her. The time came when we separated and we found Mrs. Burkes. This was it. It was a new beginning and I was happy that Xavier would be a part of it.
