I gasped, my eyes opening.
The dream.
That was the full dream?
As my eyes adjusted I looked around. It was dark, yet a pair of eyes glowed. A deep, mesmerizing, dangerous silver.
"You're awake." A rough voice.
Where am I? Who is this? What's going on-?
All my memories flooded through me.
Anger again.
I sat up quickly, gravel shattering as the earth and dirt beneath held me in an abnormal embrace.
I stood and kicked towards the person who sat across from me.
He caught my foot. " You. . .have a- Who are you?!"
I growled infuriated and this time he slammed me to the floor grabbing my hair that was currently situated in a ponytail. He lost his grip on my hair causing my face to bang against the ground. I felt my teeth clench against my tongue.
"Who are you human?"
His foot slammed on my back. I whimpered as the impact caused my ribs to collide with the floor.
"Talk."
W-Who am I? "Ty- I can't remember!" I quickly lied. My dad taught me all about this. All the training I went through. . .they wouldn't get anything from me. My dad taught me to keep my mouth shut. Don't tell him anything about what I can do. Don't even speak to them. I have to wait until he comes and gets me.
But. . .my. . .he's. . .gone. He can't come for me.
The stranger growled.
"Hey Dontae, calm it with the human."
"She's not answering."
"Yeah?" said the new voice." You're the one who brought her. Have some patience."
"Hey."
Light hit my eyes. My eyelids closed and opened adjusting to the new light entering the cave like room. The room was small with nothing but a lantern. The fire was too bright.
"Can you tell me what you know?"
I tried sitting up, his foot came down again. Tears fell down my face as breathing became more difficult.
"Dontae!" The man barked. "Leave. I'll handle the rest."
A moment of silence went pass as the foot rose from my back a kick to my gut had me clutching at my throat.
"Leave now!"
A cold breeze soon drifted into the room. I sat up holding my ribs and chest.
"I'm sorry. He's very. . .forceful. Are you alright?"
His hand reached towards me, I flinched back as my vision adjusted.
His face appeared young. Younger than I thought he was. His calm authoritive manner had me sure he was older. His hair was styled in short brown spikes that glistened. His eyes matched his hair. His jaw hard curved, red full lips and on his neck a design I couldn't quite catch due to the fact I was avoiding his touch.
"I won't hurt you. Don't cry. My name is Lemont." His words were slow and careful so as not to scare me."Do you remember what happened? Do you know who you are?"
"I'm. . ." I stammered, shaken. "What do you want?" I glared into his eyes taking a deep breath. "Why did you kill my dad?"
His eyes narrowed. "That wasn't us. We were trying to prevent it."
