“Um hi.” I waved shyly.
Kory smiled briefly and looked away from me. "Hi. You seem nervous."
I watched the little purse that hung at my shoulder. My face felt perfectly fine due to the water and wind and fire I had to get to clean my face of all that make up stuff. Kory watched me do it oddly enough. Now I just felt embarrassed at it. I wish I had done it sooner. We stood in the field outside my window. I watched his outfit that consisted of a black t-shirt that was tight to show off his body. I gulped.
Im starting to hate this distraction. If only they hadnt been talkng about Kory wanting to hold me tightly in his arms (I know, what is wrong with them?!) and him wanting to strip for me(?) I wouldnt be thinking like this. I looked away into his eyes. I got caught. I so just got caught looking at his chest.
“You look....pretty.”
I didnt respond to that. I know I dont look pretty. I watched the skirt they picked out for me. It was pretty but didnt look right on me. The shirt they forced me too wear was suppose to be low cut (?) but I pulled it up making sure it covered me enough. Even with this on I knew I didnt look at al pretty. Not even, especially not compared to him.
He looks so Wow and I look so Stop.
“So what are we doing out here?”
He smiled. "You're welcome for the compliment."
“You mean the lie.” I countered impatiently.
He sighed. "You're being difficult."
“Sorry.” I apologized softly. I shouldnt ruin this. I need to be good and polite or something. No need to yell at him again. This would be a good time to apologize for hitting him in his stomach. Wouldnt it? I dont know. I really just dont know.
“Were here to watch the sky. Its a ritual that happens on your birthday every year.”
“Ritual?”
He nodded. "It should be here any minute now."
I looked at the sky. I kept waiting not saying anything. I tried to ignore his presence as I often did. His smell, his hair, his eyes-everything.
Its really pissing me off that I cant focus around him at all. At least I know why now. I felt my body start to tingle and suddenly I felt empty. Suddenly a veil of beautiful silver water floated above us. Before I could ask it slowly fell I felt the water against my skin it was warm and didnt cause me to get soaked. The grass lit up taking on the color of the silver water. The wind blew hard making the grass sway. I closed my eyes against the sudden pressure. I slowly opened them and gasped. The tree leaves turned silver and fell around us. It reminded me of the forest I remembered. I stepped a bit forward staring in awe.
Little one.
The elements played around me.
Welcome back.
“Sup.” I said laughing feeling all the energy go threwout me. I turned to Kory happily. “How is this happening?”
Kory shrugged and kept watching the sky. “This is where you sing the song.” Kory’s voice filled the air around me as Wind made a mini tornado around us. I smiled but realized what he just said.
“I dont know the words.” I told him frightened.
“Its fine hum it.”
I hummed the song feeling all the elements power rise.
“Lightest night of the darkest day.” I whispered.
Kory smiled. "I see you remembered why you made the song."
