I pull up into the driveway of my dad's trailer. I lock my car and walk up to the front door. I knock on his door.

Dewey opens the door and smiles when he sees that it's his daughter.
"Hey dad." I say.
"Hey kiddo." Dewey wraps his arm behind me and pushes me into the trailer.

We both sit together on the couch.
"How was your mom's?" Dewey asks.
"It was ok, we only got in one fight." I smirk.
"That's good."

"Oh it's 10:00!" Dewey says as he grabs the remote. He turns the tv onto Gale's morning show.

"Good morning. I'm Gale Weathers."

"You still watch the show?" I ask.
"Yeah." Dewey whispers.
Suddenly there's a knock at the door.

"Go away!" Dewey shouts.
"Dad..."
"Sorry to bother you Mr. Riley. We just wanna ask you a few questions." A girl cuts me off.
"I don't give interviews." Dewey says back.
"We're not here for an interview."

Dewey gets up to answer it and I follow him.
"Give me on good reason why I should talk to you." Dewey pushes and I sigh at him.
"I'm Billy Loomis's daughter." She says.
"Oh shit." I mutter.
Dewey opens the door.

"That's a terrible reason for me to talk to you."
"My name is Samantha Carpenter. I was attacked last night at the hospital. The night before that my sister was stabbed 7 times. I know you know what that's like. I'm just trying to protect my family. 5 minutes, that's all I'm asking."
"I'll give you two minutes. I'm missing a show I like." Dewey mutters and let them in.

I follow him to the living room. Dewey turns the tv off.
"Gale Weathers. Weren't you two, um?" The guy with Sam says.
"Yeah." Dewey answers.
"And I'm her daughter." I mutter.
"Oh shit." Sam mutters.

"Who's he?" Dewey asks her.
"This is Ritchie, my boyfriend."
"How long have you known him?"
"6 months."
"Did he know who your dad was when you met? Express any interest in Woodsboro for the Ghostface killings?"
"What the hell are you talking about?" Ritchie asks.
"Your killer is obsessed with the Stab movies, right? Well, there's certain rules to surviving a stab movie. Believe me, I know. Rule number 1, never trust the love interest. They seem sweet, caring, supportive, then welcome to act 3 where they're trying to rip your head off."

"I was with Sam in Modesto when Tara was attacked."
"Let me guess, you were just in the other room conveniently unaccounted for when she was attacked at the hospital."
"Ok, do I have to take this from shitty Sam Eliot over here, or what?"

"Rule number two, the killer's motive is always connected to something in the past."
"I'm related to Billy."
"Right but then why kill that random Vince guy?" Ritchie asks.
"That's for you to figure out. Rule number 3, this is the most important rule. The first victim always has a friend group that the killer is apart of. Does your sister have a close knit group of friends?"
"Yeah. She does."
"Then look for the killer there. If you can find out why their doing this, you can figure out who's next."

"So help us. Help us figure out who's behind this."
"No!" I cut off my dad.
"Are you kidding me? I've been stabbed 9 times, I got permanent nerve damage, and a fun little limp. You think I wanna do that again?"
"You just said it goes back to the past, right? So, if I'm in danger, that means you're in danger. Come on, let's do this, together."

"You're times up." Dewey says before pushing them out the door and slamming it.

We both go back over to the couch. We watch mom's show and then Dewey gets up and walks over to his phone.
"What are you doing?" I ask.
"Texting your mom."
"About what?" I ask.
"That ghostface is back."
"No, please don't, she gonna make a huge deal out of it."
"She needs to know." Dewey mutters.
He texts her than goes to call someone.

"Now, who you calling?" I ask.
"Sidney." Dewey mutters.
He lets the phone ring then Sidney picks up.

"Hello?"
"Hey Sid, it's me."
"Dewey? Oh my god. How long has it been? Oh hang on. I'm just trying to get a run in before I take the girls to school. How are you?"
"I'm good, how are you? How's Mark?" Dewey asks.
"I think I'll keep him. How are things in the sheriff business?"

"Uh they're fine, but Sid."
"Have you talked to Gale lately?" Sidney cuts him off.
"No, not in a couple years."
"I know things didn't end well with you guys."

"Sid, it's happening again."
"What are you talking about?" Sidney asks.
"Some idiot in a Ghostface mask. 3 attacks so far. 1 dead. Something about this one seems different."
"Are you ok? And is Gabbie ok? Please tell me she isn't stuck in this again." Sidney says.
"Fine, you know me. But Gabbie, she's gonna be stuck in it again."
"Yeah. I do know you that's why I'm asking."

"I just want you to be safe up there, do you have a gun?"
"I'm Sidney fucking Prescott of course I have a gun."
"Good, that's good."
"Does Gale know?"
"No, she's my next call. But Sid, promise me. No matter what you hear, or what you see on the news. Don't come here."
"No offense, Dewey, but I have no intention on ever setting foot in the town again."
"Good."

"Dewey, whoever this killer is after, I'm glad they have you to protect them. But, you be safe."
"Will do."
"It's good to hear your voice."
"You too Sid."
They hang up.

"Come on, get it together." Dewey mutters to himself.
Dewey texts Gale. I walk over to him.
"You ok?" I ask.
"Yeah." Dewey looks over at the picture of him and Gale.

He gets up and walks over to the picture. He takes the picture down and opens the box under it. He sees all of his stuff from his sheriff days.

"You really aren't thinking about doing this, are you?" I ask.
"I have to." Dewey mutters.
"No, you don't. You can die if you do. I can't lose you." I push back my tears.
"I can't just let them walk right into this. I need to help. There's no doubt about it."
"Dad." I whisper.

He starts to walk out to his car. He gets in the driver seat and I chose to follow him. I get in the passenger seat and we sit there in silence as he drives into town.
