"You were on the air." Dewey mutters.
"How do you know?" Gale asks
"A hunch." Dewey mutters.
"Dad." I whisper.

"You look good. You still writing?" Dewey adds.
"No time."
"You're always happiest when you're writing." Dewey mutters before looking over Gale's shoulder and seeing her crew, "you couldn't resist a good story?"

"Don't be an idiot Dewey. I'm here because I was worried about you and our daughter."
Dewey sighs in disbelief and I do too.
"Ok, my producers wanted me to cover this for obvious reasons. 90% is because of you both."
"Well I feel 90% better." Dewey says before walking away.

"Don't be so sensitive." Gale says.
"Since when did you care about my feelings?"
"Hey!"
"Especially the last couple years."
"Listen, let's not pretend that I'm the one that ended things." Gale shouts at Dewey.

"Guys please." I plead.
"No one's pretending, Gale. I remember what happened."
"Why aren't you in uniform?" Gale asks.
"I retired."
"Since when?"
"Since they asked me to."
"Dewey."
I watch the scene and a tear leaves my eye.

"I don't need your pity, Gale. I made my choices, so did you."
"It was my turn. It was a great opportunity. You said you'd try."
"I did."
"For two whole months!" Gale shouts.
"Listen if you want me to feel even worse than I do already, good luck. The mornings aren't so bad because I get to see you. Pretend, still back there in New York, then I remember, that I couldn't. I left in the middle of the night, like a coward."

"Why wouldn't you tell me that sooner? It would've mattered. You are a lot of things, Dewey, but you are not a coward. You were just meant to be in Woodsboro." Gale's voice starts to break.
"And you weren't? Promise me you will leave the second you can."
"You know I can't promise that. I'm sorry about Judy."
"Yeah, me too, but it will make a great chapter in your new book."
Gale tilts her head and smiles.

I hug my dad, then my mom. I stay with my dad and Gale goes over to do her report.

Meanwhile, Sam calls Richie and tells him about the death of Judy and Wes. She looks over and sees the police that were supposed to be watching Tara in the hospital.

She runs over to them.
"Who's at the hospital? Who's watching my sister?" She asks.
"I just heard about the sheriff." A officer mutters.
Sam runs into her car while saying her sister is in trouble.

Dewey walks over and I follow. He goes into Sam's car. I go to the backseat but he stops me.
"Stay here. Go over with your mother." Dewey demands.
"No! I'm going with you." I shout as I pull out of his grasp and into the backseat.

Sam starts to drive to the hospital.

In the hospital

The elevator opens. Inside me, Sam, and Dewey are inside. Dewey starts shooting towards Ghostface. Sam runs towards Tara and I follow her. Dewey runs after Ghostface.

Sam and I help Tara up as Dewey helps Richie up. Dewey and Richie walk over with the three of us. Ghostface comes from the corner and pushes dad into the wall.

I try to let go over Tara and help him, but I felt glued down to the ground. I watch in fear but I'm paralyzed.

Dewey gets the killer off of him and grabs his gun. He shoots the killer in the torso 3 times. The killer falls into a glass case behind him.

Dewey gets up and grabs Richie. He pulls him up and follows me, Tara, and Sam into the elevator. We all get into the elevator safely. Dewey goes to press the button to go to the first floor, but he used his hand to stop the door from shutting.
