We get out of the car and when we close the door, Sam and Ritchie look over.
"Holy shit, he came." Sam says.
"I've decided to temporarily assist in your investigation."
"Thank you."

Dewey walks past them and I follow.
"Just because that guy was sheriff, doesn't mean he should have a gun." Ritchie whispers to Sam.
Sam looks over to Dewey motioning towards the door.

We all go Martha Meek's house. Mindy shows us around.
"Randy was our uncle. R.I.P." Mindy says while walking past his portrait.
We all look at Tara's friends sitting around the room.

"Ohh suspects. My brother would be so proud." Martha says while walking in.
"Hey Martha." Dewey mutters when she looks over at him.
"Dewey! Hi! You look." Martha just nods and smiles.
"Yeah."
"Is this your infamous daughter?" Martha asks now looking at me.
"Yep, the one and only." Dewey chuckles.
"Oh, how's the wife?" Martha asks.

"Ok mom! We're good. Thank you." Chad cuts her off.
"Alright kids have fun." She says while leaving the room.
"I asked Mindy to call everybody here because there's something I have to tell you."

Sam shows Billy Loomis and tells her story.

"So you're telling me that you're the daughter of Billy Loomis and what that one of us is the killer?"
"The killer told me he knew my secret. He attacked Tara to lure me back here."
"So then why immediately go and murder some douche who's stalking Liv?"
"Why does it have to be one of us? What about Deputy Dewey here? Maybe he's the killer." Wes intervenes.
"He's not!" I shout.

"No offense."
"None taken, but what's my motive?"
"You got stabbed a million times, got dumped by your famous wife, and crawled into a bottle. I think it's safe to say you're on the suspect list."
"You don't know that whole story." I yell at Wes.

"It could be you." Amber says.
"Why do you say that?" I ask.
"You're very defensive over there."
"No shit, he's my father and not a killer."
"If you say so." Amber mutters.

"Well maybe you're the killer... because that cut deep." Dewey continues with Wes.
"Also that douche is connected. I googled him. His mom is Leslie Macher, Stu Macher's sister." Amber intervenes.
"Who's Stu Macher?" Liv asks.
"Omg." Mindy whispers to herself.
"Billy Loomis's accomplice. A real loonie tune."

"Ok, ok, so the first three attacks are all on people related to the original killers." Sam starts.
"Oh my god! He's making a requel." Mindy shouts.
"A what?" Sam asks confused.

"Or like a sequel, fans are torn on the terminology."
"Please speak English." Chad begs his sister.
"Ok remember the stab movie that came out last year?"
"Oh yeah, the one that the knives out guy directed, right? No I really actually like that one." Liv answers.
"Of course you did you have terrible taste."
"I hate you."

"The point is, the hardcore stab fans hated it. You go on fort Chan and Reddit all people are talking about is how stab 8 pissed on their childhoods. How they crammed in social commentary just to make it elevated. How the main character's a Mary Sue."
"What's a Mary Sue?" Ritchie asks.
"You really don't wanna know." Wes mutters.

"What's wrong with elevated horror? I mean Jordan Peel rules." Amber asks
"Uh obviously but that's not stab. Real stab movies are meta slasher who done it full stop." Mindy adds
"Come on its just a movie." Sam says.

"No it's not. To some people the original is their favorite thing in the world. The movie that made them love horror. That mom or dad showed them when they were ten that bonded them together. And god help anyone who slightly fucks with that special memory. Who makes a movie they think disrespects it. It sounds like our killer is writing his own version of stab 8 but doing it as a requel."
"Which is?" Dewey asks.

"See, you can't just reboot a franchise from scratch anymore, fans won't stand for it. Black Christmas, Child's Play, Flatliner's, that shit doesn't work. But you can't just do a straight sequel either, you gotta build something new. But not too new or the internet goes bug fucking nuts. It's gotta be part of an ongoing storyline. Even if the story shouldn't have been ongoing in the first place. New main characters, yes, but supported by and related to legacy characters. Not quite a reboot, not quite a sequel. Like the new Halloween, Saw, Terminator, Jurassic Park, Ghostbusters, fuck even Star Wars. It always goes back to the original."

"Are you telling me that I'm caught in the middle of fan fucking fiction?" Sam asks.
"Not just in the middle, Sam, you're the star."
"So not to put too fine of a point on it, but according to requel rules, who's next?" Liv asks.
"Going by the pattern, whoever it is has to be connected to someone that came before."

"So, you're saying that I'm also a prime suspect because my parents are fucking Dewey and Gale. Sidney's technically my aunt. I'm screwed!" I shout.
"I'm starting to regret coming here." Dewey mutters.
"Jesus, my mom's character one." Wes whimpers.
"No one cares about the shitty inferrer requels, Wes, you're safe. But, Randy as our uncle, you and I probably also screwed." Mindy tells Chad.

"Wait what?" Chad asks.
"Or maybe you're the killer and this whole what elaborate monologue is just to cover your tracks?" Ritchie adds.
"I think it's pretty clear who the killer is."
"Who?" Sam asks.
"You."
"What?"

"It makes perfect requel sense."
"That actually does make a lot of sense." Chad agrees.
"Fuck this." Sam says before storming out, Ritchie follows her.

The rest of them all go back home. Me and dad go out to the car. The second I get into the car, I start to cry.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Dewey asks.
"I don't wanna die. I'm a prime target. I also can't lose you, mom, or Sid. You are the originals." I mutter through my tears.

Dewey reached over and grabs my hand.
"It's all gonna be ok. I'm not gonna let you die. And the three of us aren't leaving you anytime soon."
"I love you dad."
"I love you too, kiddo."

Dewey looks on his phone and sees that Judy was killed in her house.
"Oh shit." Dewey says before driving to the sheriff's house.
"What?" I ask confused.
"Judy was murdered in her home. So was Wes." Dewey mutters.

We quickly pull up to her house. We both get out and Dewey offers to help. I follow him. We get situated to help.

We then look over and see Sam talking to one of the officers.
"I know her son." Sam pleads.
The officer looks at her.
"Her son, is he?"
"Sorry." Sam goes back onto the outside of the tape.

A news van shows up and Gale walks out of it. She walks over behind Sam.
"Excuse me." Gale says and Sam turns around.
"Oh my god, you're... well you're you."
"Last time I checked. You ok, you seem like your having a moment. Did you know the sheriff?"

"Sort of. She didn't like me very much."
"She didn't really like me either."
"Um, I'm Samantha, Sam Carpenter. My sister and I were attacked."
"Oh, sorry to hear that. I'm Gale..." Gale looks over at Dewey, "Riley... Weathers. Gale Weathers, excuse me."

Gale runs over to Dewey and Gabbie. Dewey and I hear heels and look over. I smile and run over to hug Gale.
"Mom." I mutter in her arms.
Gale holds me with one arm and repeatedly slaps Dewey with her other hand.

"You tell me the killer is back in a text!" Gale shouts.
I pull away from my mom.
"Ow that hurts." Dewey says.
I get out from between them and go off to the side.
