Chapter 2 :- Meeting the devil

Emma now was all devastated not knowing what to do. She was in utter disbelief of what she did last night. She gulped in fear woke up from the bed and headed to the washroom to take a hot water bath.

She opened the hot shower, closed her eyes took a deep breath and started to think about her life which was now falling apart.

~Emma's pov~

I was born in a middle class family and always had a very simple life. After completing my graduation from Seoul National University I started searching for a job. Thankfully I got the job in Hybe company as a personal secretary to the CEO. I never really had any conversation with him because it's just been a month and I was still learning from his ex secretary. Even though I hardly saw Jungkook I heard he's a very cold and arrogant type of person. He would fire any employee of his without any second thought if any single thing goes wrong in his job. I can't believe I'll have to face him like this.

Oh God!!!! what did I do to suffer like this (She said quite loudly to herself).

After taking a bath she dressed up and booked a taxi to go to office because she was still feeling sick. Skipping her breakfast was a common thing for her now, she just wanted to face her fate as fast as possible.

She sat in the taxi and opened her phone to check if there's any other message. There she saw a text from Richard.

Richard:- "Baby I am so sorry for what I did. Please forgive me this one time I'll make sure it doesn't happen again"

Reading this text tears started forming in Emma's eyes. She really loved him and was never ready to see the incident. She could sense that Richard has grew distant from her. He would never text her first and would hardly meet her. Also he started giving her cold replies. However Emma ignored all these for the sake of her love. She was still in a shock from the heartbreak and moreover there's now another big problem.

She sighed heavily in disappointment. Finally she reached her office.

Emma glanced at the company building once again before entering and said to herself, "Get ready to face the fate, you really are a hapless person" and then entered.

She straight away went to Jungkook's office room because that's where she will meet the devil or that's what she thinks him as.

Knock! Knock! Emma tapped on the door twice "May I come in Sir?"

Jungkook was looking into a file, he looked up and took a glimpse of the lady. He had a sudden smirk on his face seeing Emma, that gave chills down her spine.

Jungkook :- Yes come in

Emma:- Sir you asked for me?(
said nervously, pretending she forgot about last night)

Jungkook:- Yes, from today onwards you are gonna overtake Miss Kim and will directly work under me.

Emma on hearing this felt a bit relieved that she was atleast not fired from her job.

Emma:- Okay sir! ( Said with same nervousness)

Jungkook:- You may leave now I will call you when I'll need you and make sure to take my this week's schedule from Miss Kim.
Saying this Jungkook gave a devilish smirk as if something was going inside his head.

Emma left the room bowing to him. She took the schedule and went to her own workplace. She glanced at the sheet Jungkook had a meeting at 12pm so she still had an hour in her hand.

Emma once again started to think. She was rather astonished that she was not fired after what happened last night. She started making arrangements for Jungkook's back to back meetings.

The day passed by fast, it was 7pm and almost everyone has left but Emma was working for the next day's morning meeting. She was done and was about to call it a day but Jungkook asked her to meet him in his office.

Emma:- May I come in sir? (This time a bit confidently)

Jungkook:- Yes you may.

Emma entered and stood infront of Jungkook. She now saw Jungkook more clearly. "The man, he's really God's favourite art no wonder every girl is crazy over him" Emma was thinking all this but soon was cut in the middle by Jungkook's voice.

Jungkook:- Miss Emma, I want to talk about last night.

Hearing this Emma got a bit scared.

Emma:- Yes, sir? ( With a trembling voice)

The fear was clear on her face and Jungkook seemed to be enjoying her that nervousness.

Jungkook:- We both were drunk last night and also we will now have to spend most of the time together so it will be better if you move on from the incident. Consider it as a drunken mistake and make sure to forget about it. I hope I made myself clear to you.

Emma:- Yes sir! ( Sweating in fear)

Jungkook came a bit close to her and leaned a bit forward. Their faces were now just a few inches apart and Emma could smell his cologne.

After a moment Jungkook broke the silence by saying, I hope you had the medicines today in the morning. You must be tired you can now leave.

Emma just nodded with the same nervousness, bowed and left the room.

She couldn't see the smile in Jungkook's face. A smile that seemed to be hiding lots of mysteries and ideas.
