"Huh?" Aether opened his eyes seeing Xiao standing on the rail of the balcony, "Xiao?" He tried to speak but his voice didn't make a sound, he couldn't. "Wait, Xiao, I'm so-" he went to reach for him but as he took a step Xiao slipped off the balcony falling below, "XIAO!!" Aether ran for the rail to grab him but there was no time. Missing the purple cloth by just a hair Xiao slipped through his fingers falling into a dark chasm. Aether immediately got on the rail and went to jump after him but instead of falling down into the dark he fell onto the grassy fields of a large and beautiful grassy plain.
Baffled he looked back seeing he had jumped from the platform of a waypoint. Sitting back on his feet he blinked unsure as to what that was.
"Aether?" His heart jumped and he quickly looked, the tone of that voice the way it sounded.
"Xiao...?" It was him, he became ecstatic, "Xiao!" Aether stood running up to him, a hug warm and welcoming. "You're okay! You fell- what happened? You're not hurt?"
"Hm? I have yet to fall anywhere." Xiao tilted his head wondering what he meant, "It's you who fell, are you hurt?"
"Huh? I fell? Pff! It was only from the waypoint, it's fine!" Aether laughed happy it was only just a bad dream. "Where's Paimon? Where are we?"
"With Cloud Retainer, have you forgotten we agreed to a picnic with the other Adepti?"
"Ah, r-right." He smiled though it hurt a bit to, "Sorry. I did forget for a second there."
"Aether, you don't have to apologize, I have told you that before."
"....." Aether looked down at their hands, Xiao held his hands, he wasn't in his usual uniform wearing a liyue style that suited him to such a casual ocassion. "Are we..?"
"?" Xiao now looked confused too, "Aether have you hit your head? You seem to be forgetting quite a bit today. Come, get some rest. Perhaps that will help."
"Right.." Aether looked up now seeing they weren't in the lovely plains anymore. Xiao was a small child holding his hand as he lead him through a thick forest. "What's going on?" He couldn't make sense of it this time keeping quiet as he was led by the child Xiao.
Taking note of himself he too had a child form, "Aether."
"Huh?" He turned his eyes to Xiao who now was staring at him,
"It's okay. I'll be here to help."
He frowned deeply, "I love you so much! Why can't we just stay like this?" Aether didn't let go of his hand, "Please give me a chance-"
"Traveler."
"Ah-" a deep kiss surprised him, a twirling tongue inside. "Ngh-Xia-ah?" The sensation below was unfamiliar yet a familiarity boiled in the heat between them. It was deep inside, he could feel it pushing in as Xiao moved. "Hic-ow-Xiao!" Sharp teeth dug into his skin as he was bitten.
Blood drawn a warm tongue licking it up, "You gave me permission, are you afraid?"
"Permission?" Aether stared at him surprised as Xiao cleaned his tears.
"Please bear with it, I will be gentle."
"Ah-aah!" He thrusted it in making Aether twitch, it was hot, it felt great, but the emptiness in his chest was cold.
Opening his eyes once more he sat up in a bed he knew, the room he once thought of was different somehow, though it all remained seemingly the same as what he felt he remembered. Getting up he felt no discomfort nor any pain, touching his back he checked himself. There was nothing wrong. With a sigh he closed his eyes wanting to give it some thought but he didn't know what to think of first.
