[A/N; Back from my vacation! Not sorry for the lack of updates, I tried haaaaa ಥ⁠‿⁠ಥ anyway, updates will be back regularly.]

"Um, I'm really sorry." Aether said feeling bad as he was holding the bottles of strange potions he had been given by Kirara. It was a special delivery that rewarded her with a sample of the strange elixir. "I didn't know Paimon spilled the potion from Inazuma." A calm tail swayed low, slowly side to side it moved. Fluffy ears twitched when Aether touched his arm, "Xiao?" Noticing them made Aether smile, he looked at Xiao who had his arms crossed bothered, but not taking it out on him. "I'll make it up to you."

"Hm." Xiao sighed, "It was a simple error." He looked at him, "There is no need."

Although, the tail swaying curiously told Aether otherwise. "Hahaha!" His laugh made the cat ears on Xiao's head perk. "I'll make you almond tofu!"

"I-if that is your decision.. I will accept."

"Hehe~ I'll make some when I get the kitchen cleaned up, thanks to Paimon.." Paimon whistled looking at a plant nearby pretending not to know what he was talking about, "I made a mess when I tried to make some before."

"Very well. I shall.. mm, help you clean."

"Oh you don't have to."

"Nonsense, it was because of me you chose to make such a dish. It's only right I do my part and assist you."

"Ah." Paimon and Aether looked at each other confused, but then both grinned. "Ok!"

They took his hands and dragged him along. The touch was sudden and alarmed Xiao, but he didn't mind it being put right to work with them. Paimon scrubbed the hard to reach walls, and Aether wiped down the counters and shelves. He'd been given a mop and bucket. This was new, though chores were something he knew many did, he couldn't understand how they were so comfortable having him help.

Not paying it much mind, he began his chores. Noticing Aether nearby he caught a glance at him and went back to mopping only to be alerted by the tail having touched something. It curled around the curious object, he didn't take notice to what it did feeling it was foreign to him. Minding his business he then heard a quiet chuckle and a whisper right after.

"Xiao?" Looking over he saw Aether was smiling kindly then pointed. "I can't clean if you're tail is wrapped around mine."

Looking down he saw the tail attached to himself was loosely wrapped around Aether's tail, "....." Staring at it he then said, "I'm unsure how to... control it." He stared at the tail again. It was strange he could feel the warmth from it touching Aether's tail. He could feel him through it.

This made it clear that it was a part of his body, whatever elixir he had ingested it created an entirely new part of him he didn't understand.

"I don't mind, but it's hard to move." He put a few things on a high shelf but had to stop when he felt Xiao's tail wouldn't let go of his own. "I don't want to pinch your tail, I already did that, it hurts enough."

"You're hurt?" He asked hoping it wasn't bad, "Shall we go see Dr. Baizhu?"

"It's not that serious Xiao." Aether laughed as he fixed up the shelves instead careful to not to pull at the tails. "I just pinched it, see? There's nothing wrong with it." He showed him the tip of his tail, there was nothing wrong with it, just some ruffled fur.

"....."

"Ah-" Aether noticed the ears on Xiao's head were lowered, a sign of worry, bother, concerned but unable to say so. "I'm fine, really." He chuckled, "Come on, we still have cleaning to do before I can make your almond tofu!" The ears perked up and Xiao went back to mopping.
