Your POV
You stood outside your locker room as you watched Haru walk out," Lane 4, Freshman at Hidaku University, Haruka Nanase." The announcer spoke, as you saw your brother walk out.
You smiled, as you gave alittle laugh,"Damn, Haru. Give the camera alittle smile." You joked.
You watched as Haru go into position and soon the buzzer went off the group of swimmers dove into the water, you eyes locked onto Haru, he was leading as he took his turn off the wall back to the end he increased his speed, you could tell he was fired up, really fired up. He hit the wall and gasped out for air as he took his cap off and shook his wet hair like a little puppy.
"Not bad time." You thought, as you walked back into the room to see Kenma. "100m backstroke, female heat 1." The announcer called.
You stood in your Japan swim jacket (white and red) Kenma beside me as we sat in the locket rooms,"Looks like its your turn." Kenma said as she tapped you shoulder. You squeezed you cheeks,"I'm so nervous! But, I'm also so excited! I'm about to go up against the world best, am I dream? Kenma, am I dreaming?! You asked as you started to shake Kenma vigorously. Kenma gripped you tightly,"No! Girl, calm down! This isn't a dream, now go out there and do your best, you got this!!" Kenma said as she slapped you on the back. You gave a smile as you made your way outside.
Rin's POV
"100m backstroke, female heat 1." The announcer called.
I knew what that meant, It was Y/n's turn. Haru had just finished he stood by us as he decided to watch his sister's race.
"In lane 3, A freshman from Takoyomi University, Y/n Nanase." The announcer said as a short dark blue-haired girl walked out in her white/red jump suit. She soon took of her jacket and pants to reveal her swim suit, as she put her goggles down and hopped into the water, and gripped onto the metal platform.
The buzzer went off and the swimmers dove in and the race was on. Y/n leading, as she hit her turn she increased her speed alittle more and as soon as it started she touched the wall and came out gasping for air. She took of her cap and shook out her wet hair.
"Her times are incredible even on the World stage she's incredibly fast." I mumbled to myself.
I could see a slight smile come off from Haru's face.
Your POV
You hopped out of the your lane when a strange girl walked over to you, She had dark purple hair and light purple eyes.
"So you're not bad, I guess."
"But don't get so cocky just because you did somewhat great in the preliminary." The girl echoed.
"And who are you to say I can't?" You remarked back.
"You'll see that the preliminary is nothing compared to the semi-finals." The girl said as she walked away.
You headed back into the locker rooms to Kenma waiting for you," you did so good girl!" You zipped yourself back into your jacket and put your pants back on.
"So when are you on?!" You asked.
"I have two more events ahead of me, I think it's men's butterfly next, I'm pretty sure." Kenma said as she put her finger to her lip.
A slight blush came to your cheeks, as you dragged Kenma outside with you to see it was Rin's Prelims.
"Seriously! You just want to watch Rin's prelims? Are you ever gonna talk to make things right between the two of you?!" Kenma asked.
"Shush! You know It's been kind of awkward after things the other day's ago, things will get better just let us take it slow Kenma!" You said.
The race began and Rin had gotten a rocket start but soon after the turn he everyone started to catch and. Soon by the end of the race he came out of the water and he had got 5th place. You licked your lips as you sighed. Then you walked back inside the locker rooms and out into the hallway. You walked by these vending machines when you came upon Haru,"uh- brother? What are you doing out here?!" You asked.
He looked at you, and raised an eyebrow. "Same here, what you doing out here?"
You scratched the back of your nape, as you glanced away at Haru," I just came to get a snack." You said averting your gaze to the the vending machines beside you two.
Haru looked at you, no believing a single word coming out your mouth, and began to fold his arms," Okay fine. I was looking for Rin." You said.
He gave a slight smile, and then put his normal face back on,"Same here."
You looked at him shocked,"Oh. So we were both looking for him, so did you see him?!" You asked.
"Do you see Rin with me?" Haru asked.
"No?.." You said awkwardly.
"There's your answer."
Timeskip
The first day of the All Japan was complete, they gave us a small debrief and then dismissed us for the rest of the evening. Sadly, Rin and Ikuya both got 5th and wouldn't be swimming in the semi-finals, while you and your brother had the semi-finals to prepare for tomorrow. Kenma had left to spend the night with her boyfriend, who came up to watch her swim, she ended up going to the semi-finals in her 200m Backstroke. With Haru eating dinner with his coach, and Kenma gone, you were stuck all alone in your room until tomorrow.
"Ugh!! I hate being alone!!" You whined as you sat in your room bored. After a good 15 minutes you decided to take a walk outside when you saw Rin and his Coach not so far away, you kept your distance as you got alittle closer to hear their conversation.
"You noticed the problem with your kicks yourself, right?!"
"It really was a race with a lot to learn from it."
"But, tomorrow's the time for reflection."
"Let's just head back to the hotel. We'll go over your goals once you calm down. Rin's coach said as he walked off.
"Thank you." Rin said as he walked towards the edge to look out towards the water and the city.
You decided to walked out and stand beside him,"Haven't we came so far?!" You said looking out onto the water as shined brightly onto the city.
You had caught Rin's attention as he looked over to see you to his side,"U-uh. Yeah. Rin said.
"I saw your race. You did amazing." You said.
"Yeah, and yet I got 5th." Rin said sarcastically.
"Damn, your always so hard on yourself." You said nudging him.
He raised an eyebrow, as you gave him a passing glance,"Jeez' this is your first world tournament, you'll get better with time, I mean we're going up against swimmers from all around the world, it's a whole different ball-game than regular tournaments; you should be proud with what you accomplished, and I bet your dad would too." You said.
Rin looker at you smiled,"Thanks."
"Welp! I guess I'll be leaving now, See you tomorrow." You said as you stretched your arms and made your way out and heading back to the hotel.
You undressed and took a nice warm shower as you put your pjamas on after. You got into bed and under the covers falling into a deep slumber, knowing tomorrow you'd face a something unimaginable.
