Chapter 8 - For the Better

(Chapter viii)

Rin's POV

"50.30.06. Great Time, Rin. Your impoving very well." Mikhail said.

"Thanks." I said.

I hopped out of the pool, and took off my swim cap. Mikhail handed me a towel to try off with, as I sat down on the bench.

"Anyway, You still have a long way to go before the invitational." Mikhail said.

"Yeah. I'll see you again tomorrow." I said.

I waved bye to my coach, and headed to my apartment. I check my phone, and noticed Niomi sent me a message. I clicked on her contact, and saw her send me a link. I clicked on the link, which sent me to a SnapGram, and to Y/n Profile. I raised an eyebrow and then I noticed a post on her account from yesterday. It was a picture of her and Sosuke. In the caption it read, " First Date with Bae." I bit my lip in anger.

"She actually moved on."

But why out of all the guys she chose to date my best friend?"

"No. Why am I mad anyway? I told her to move on.

I then calmed down and put my phone in my pocket.

"At least She's happy now."

I arrived at my apartment, and headed inside. I yawned, as I made my way to my bedroom. I put on a much more comfortable fit, and I made dinner for the night. After Dinner I took a nice hot shower, and got ready for bed. I jumped in my bed when my phone vibrated. I checked it to see Niomi calling me.

"Hello. What's up, Niomi?" I asked.

"Hey. So I was thinking, You'd consider us to be pretty close, right?" She asked.

"Mphm..Yeah, I guess. Why?" I asked.

"If I were to ask you out-theoretically- would you say yes?!" She asked.

"Um. Yes." I said.

"Wait? Really?" She asked shocked.

"Yeah. " I said.

"So, This Saturday at 7, good for you?!" She asked.

"Yeah. See you then." I said.

"See ya." Niomi said, as she ended the call.

I put my phone back on the nightstand, and got in my bed. I then sighed, closing my eyes and drifting into a deep sleep.

I opened my eyes to see black, black all around me. Then I saw Y/n running towards you.

"Y/n."

Then she ran right passed me and hugged Sosuke. I turned my head, and felt my heart ache. I quenched my shirt, as I bit my lip.

"It's better this way... right?"

"Right?!"

Then I looked up to see Sosuke in front of me.

"You promised. I let you have her, and you broke her heart..Rin."

My eyes widened, as I lifted up out of my bed drenched in sweat, breathing heavily. I jumped out of my bed, and walked to my mirror, and looked into at it, and then put my vision on the ground, narrowing my eyes.

"She's happy. I- I'm happy. It all works." I said trying to reassure myself.

I tried to drift back to sleep, but I was up for the rest of the night.

Timeskip

"Damn you look like shit!" Niomi exaggerated.

"Thanks, Niomi." I said, sarcastically.

I looked towards Niomi, and she looked at me with a smile on her face.

"I look good?" She asked as she swirled around

Niomi's Fit:

"Uh. Yeah." I said slightly blushing.

"Awe! You're blushing!" Niomi cooed, as she took my hand.

"Let's go, Rin!" She cheered as she dragged me out.

Timeskip

I arrived back home after my night out with Niomi. I ruffled my hair, as I sat down in my bed, and laid in deep thought. Then something came to me. I checked my phone, and looked at the calender.

Oh. It's already that time. Hasn't it went by fast?
