Chapter 24 - to the World

(Chapter xxiv)

Your POV

It was that time, you were on the bus with Kenma and the rest of your friends as you made your way to Fukuoka for the international tournament. Haru was up first with his 100m free. You watched from the your seat as Haru got positioned and ready to dive in and soon the buzzer went off and all swimmers dove in. You watched as all the swimmers started to swim faster, and soon Haru sped up his kicks and started to catch up, as he reached his turn and kicked off the wall, still hanging in there, Haru pushed through and increased his speed as he hit the got to the end and gasped out for air, beating Kinjou. You smiled as you were happy for your brother, but something felt off to you, but you didn't know what, so you just let it go and moved on with your day, because you needed to focus on your event.

Ikuya was next, as he did incredible and was able to achieve a bronze medal in his race. Soon it was Rin's race, as you saw him walk out and position himself on the diving platform, you smiled and soon the buzzer went off and the swimmers took off. You watched as Rin stand close with all the swimmer as he approached the turn he kicked off the wall increasing his speed as he swam back and soon he gasped out of the water as he looked to the screen to see he place 3rd. He smiled, as he showed all his pointy teeth, slamming his hands in the water as he celebrated. You couldn't help but cheer for him as you hugged Kenma, as she looked at you awkwardly.

"So your cheering for your Ex? Am I missing something or-.."

"We got back together." You said.

"Wait? For real? And you didn't tell me?!" Kenma asked shocked.

"Yeah, sorry. It just happened." You explained.

"Whatever, but you should probably get down there your next!" Kenma said.
You had totally forgot, you were too busy cheering for Rin, you forgot you had an event todo. You rushed on down to the locker rooms to get dressed as you walked out. 100m backstroke.

Third POV

It was Y/n's turn, her 100m backstroke. She walked out of the locker rooms as she stood on her diving platform next to Sofia Matovachõbañtos, she looked at her, as she looked at you,"Let's see if you improved any bit, or if you still the same as before." She said coldly. Y/n glares at her and then face forward as she drops down into the water and pull herself up on the railing. Everyone was watching, and soon the buzzer went off, Y/n dove into the water as with the other female swimmers. Y/n tried to keep herself with Sofia, as she got to the opposite end, she turned around, her adrenaline started to kick in as she increased the speed of her kicks and started to swim faster becoming neck n neck with Sofia, neither pulling forward, in the end they both gasped out of the water as they looked at the screen.

Y/n's eyes sparkled as she gasped with shock, and soon a wet liquid fell from your eyes.

"I did it!!" You said to yourself splashed the water and cheered. Sofia looked at you,"Not bad." She said as she hopped out of the pool, and you followed behind.

Y/n m stood on the 1st place podium, with Sofia on the 2nd place, as they placed the medal around her neck and she smiled and waved at the camera's and the audience infront of her. She walked back into the locker rooms as she changed back out and headed back to where the rest of the team was. Soon the medley relay would begin soon. They decided to swap relay teams for the finals.

The medley started, and the first relay team was Hiyori, Ikuya, Natsuya, and Kinjo swim together in the qualifying round. Then Sosuke, Ikuya, Rin, and Haru swim the relay in the final round. They won 1st in the qualifying, so it was now the finals. You sat with Gou as you two cheered for them to swim their best out there.

"Big Brother!!" Gou shouted to Rin.

"Haru!!" You said, as Makoto and Nagisa shouted,"Haruka!!"

The race began, Sosuke was up, he had a nice start. He was really fast in the water, he was on his way back as he increased his speed, and soon he touched the wall, then Ikuya dove in. He was quick, he made it to the end as he kicked off the wall and increased his kicks, making him swim faster, and soon he approached the end, and Rin jumped in for butterfly, swimming perfect as always. He came to the end, as it was time for the best to hop in, Haru got ready and soon he dove in with perfection, ready to take on Albert.
Albert was faster, we all knew that, but Haru kept close with him not letting him break head of him, they hit the turn as they headed back for the end and soon Nanase increased his speed catching up to Albert, neck n neck for the final push, Something happened and Albert sped up, but Haru did so as well, neither were ready to through the towel, as they were so close to end. Everyone calling out Haru's name cheering for him to bring it home.

"Let's go Haru!!!" You shouted.

Haru kept speeding up as he approached the end and soon he touched the wall, as he came up gasping for air. He had a smile on his face as he got out of the pool, as they they all hugged him.

Your POV

You couldn't help but start to tear up, your brother did so much, it just made you happy to see him happy and swim his way. Suddenly he fell to the floor as you immediately dashed out of your seat with Makoto, Nagisa, Rei, and a few others to check on him.

"Haruka?! Are you alright?" You, Makoto, Rei, and Nagisa all asked concerned for Haru's physical state.

"Guys?" Haru said sort of conscious and then closed his eyes.

"Haru!?" Makoto asked worried.

"Haru!!" Rei shouted shocked.

Haru ended up fine, and was released from the hospital a few days later. We headed to Iwatobi for some time, as well to spend some time with each other since we hadn't really had any time together ever since we got to Tokyo. It was nice to get to spend some quality time with Haru. Now that the tournament was over, you thought about what was next for you.

I guess we'll see....
