THE WIND BELLOWED, sweeping through the city along with its weightlessness. Leaves swirled in the air and the melodies of the zephyr howled into an abyss. The skies were cloudy, leaving no room for the luminescent moonlight to beam like its counterpart, the sun.

Instead, the city skyline was bejeweled with millions of speckles of light. It was impossible to ever see the stars .. but staring down at the civilization built by man was incomparable, but enough.

The girl felt a jacket drape over her shoulders. She knew who it was without having to turn around, it was the only person who'd have been able to pinpoint her location.

"You're such a creep, can't you let a girl wallow in her thoughts in peace?" She curled her knees up to her chest.

She sat on the edge of a cliff, the cliff that towered over Jujutsu Tech, which was located on a higher perch on a mountain over Tokyo City, hidden from normal humans.

"I'm fine, you know that."

The male said nothing but instead sat down beside her. In the bleakness of the endless midnight blanket, his hair was raven black. But with the light of the bustling city, it still had a pearly hue to it. He was stripped of his sunglasses and his eyes were revealed to the world.

"I just lost control of my priorities .. should I have saved him? Or should I have not completed the mission and let everyone else die? His life could've saved more people."

"Or should i have given up my own life?"

They were all just happenstance thoughts. Just like the actions of death. Mere happenstance.

"Rieka." He placed a hand atop her head and turned her head toward his gaze. Her eyes were soft lidded and held a slightly more vulnerable expression than her usual.

"I know I should value myself more. I've heard it."

Rieka wasn't righteous, she had gotten that from Gojo. At one point in her life, she was. But then she had seen how far being righteous and just could get someone .. and the farthest it got anyone anywhere was the end of death's scythe.

She didn't cherish the lives of just anyone. She despised people who were weak. Not physically weak .. but mentally. Those who chose to not do anything about their circumstance and gave up, wallowing in their own demise.

Those who refused to change their fate.

"Satoru, if I destroyed myself and ruined the world .. would you live in that kind of world with me?"

"I wouldn't." The tone of his voice was sure.

Rieka looked away from him and fixated her eyes on her fists.

"But, I'd ruin the world for you. So you won't get your hands dirty."

He solemnly believed that Rieka deserved to live in an idyllic world. He wanted to create a world like that just for her, and he would protect it with everything that made him the strongest.

"You can't." She turned her head back to him.

But he chuckled. "I can, and I'd even prove it." He touched his forehead with hers. He was so gentle with her.

Rieka retracted and pulled the jacket a little closer to her body before laughing a little, sparking some concern from the male beside her. She reassured him by waving his hand. "My heart is beating a little fast right now." The girl said aloud, changing the topic.
