"I'M GOING TO SINGLE HANDEDLY DECLARE WAR AGAINST A WHOLE COUNTRY, IS THAT OKAY?"
"This country wouldn't so happen to be a powerhouse country, would it?"
"It won't be when I'm done."
"Rie .. we've talked about this.."
"But Satoru, they're so stupid."
"I'll see you soon. Don't go waging war."
She made no promises as the cell line was disconnected.
Rieka hated politics. She hated politicians, she hated positions of power but not power itself. The woman despised returning back to her normal duties after slacking for what felt like months but had merely been weeks.
"Fuck all of you." The woman had spat but none of the soldiers were able to understand her.
They could just tell that she was angry.
Rieka crouched down. English was one of the first languages she learned how to speak, next to Chinese, Korean and Spanish. Language barriers were never too big of a problem for her.
"You Americans. I helped your country, your president, your commander lieutenant general .. your country is in debt and you want to turn your back on us?" It was finally a language they could understand as the syllabic words rolled off her tongue with distaste.
The dark skinned woman that donned the same camo pants as her men seemed to laugh before spitting on the ground. "We're not scared of you."
"Him? He's a different situation. This thing that you so called sorcerers have .. it's an unlimited energy source .. it'll help us out. So to a friend of a friend, we'll stay away from whoever you want us to stay away from and we'll be on our way."
Rieka's foot made contact with the woman's face as a loud crack was heard from her neck. It didn't snap but it had cracked from the force, so great that she had even felt the muscle in her shoulder tear.
Kenjaku had messed up the balance she had set between Japan and the leading world countries, threatening them and uncovering the existence of curses to the high ranking politicians of America. It was something that was supposed to be kept under wraps, a secret amongst the leaders of each country and Japan.
It sounded silly enough as is .. but he had enchanted glasses for them to see curses themselves and proposed it as something even America couldn't turn down.
The country that had endless greed, endless dreams.
Always continuing to chase after power, not being able to stand not being on top.
They wanted to be ahead — to rule and to lead. But as every other country continued to make new discoveries, their past negligence began to creep up on them. Their debt, their alliances .. they felt as though they were being backed into a corner.
But the proposition of utilizing sorcerers as unlimited alternative energy sources to power all kinds of weapons and to put the united states in the running lead of the medical industry, industrialization and nuclear race .. it was too tantalizing to turn down.
The Middle East and their protection over energy rights, Germany who had been taking a step away from nuclear power, India, France, Korea, Turkey — countries with strong military prowess ..
The cascading problem of interest.
Whether or not they were Jujutsu sorcerers or not, sooner or later as their existence becomes more prominent in the real world .. the existence of sorcerers, the Japanese people will be compromised by the rest of the world, getting hunted down by them.
