'Y/N! Are you ready to go!' Mom yelled from downstairs.
Shit...
I had slept through my alarm. My room was a mess since I hadn't cleaned up from last night. Cups and bottles were everywhere and clothes were all over the floor. I just picked up a hoodie and a pair of joggers and went downstairs.

'Y/n! You look horrible.' Mom gasped while I sighed.
'Thanks mom.' I rolled my eyes. 'I don't want to go to school today. I have the worst headache.' I groaned and looked at the floor.
'Honey, you can't miss your first day.' Mom said, putting her arm around my shoulder and kissing the top of my head.

I got to school and the noise was too much to handle.
'Y/N!' A familiar voice called. I smiled.
'Oh.. hi Monty.'
'How are you? I mean from yesterday?'
'What does it look like?' I chuckled.
'Uh.. yeah. So do you want a tour around school?'
'Not really but where are the toilets?'
Monty pointed towards the toilets. I thanked him and left.

I got to the toilets and looked at myself in the mirror. I was in a rush so I didn't bring any makeup, spray or anything. I groaned.
'Heyy, you ok?' I turned around to see a girl, around my height smiling back at me.
'Yeah, I'm fine thanks.'
'I'm Sheri Holland.' She put her hand out infront of me.
'Y/n Baker.' I shook it.
'You're new, aren't you?'
'Mhm.'
'If you want, you can sit with me at lunch!'
'Uh yeah, maybe thanks.' I smiled.

I turned to leave as the bell had just rang.
'Wait, actually uh.. Sheri, can you tell me where...' I looked at my timetable. 'Where History is with Coach Patrick?'
'Yeah, of course! It's on the way to my next class!'

I entered the class with everyone turning their heads to stare at me. I saw Monty and Jeff and I smiled at them.
'Miss Baker! Glad you could finally join us! Take a seat next to Mr De la Cruz and we can get started.'

'Hi Monty.' I whispered.
'Hi y/n!'
'About that tour.. is it still available?' I asked.
'Sure.' He smirked.
'Miss Baker, Mr De la Cruz! Is there something you would like to share with the class?'
'Nope.' I said.
'Ok then if you can please shut up and listen it would be much appreciated.' Coach Patrick said.
I sarcastically smiled at him and turned to Monty again.
'What's his deal?' I asked
'I don't know, he coaches basketball and he's fine on the court. Maybe Principal Bolan made him toughen up during lessons.' Monty mentioned.

A voice came from behind us.
'Principal Bolan didn't toughen me up De la Cruz. Detention, both of you, after school'
We both stared at each other and laughed.

It's been just me and Monty (and Coach Patrick I guess) in a room for an hour. I was drawing stuff on my hands and Monty was playing with a rubber band that he found.
'Ok guys, you can go. But if you talk again in my lesson then I'll kick one of you out.' Coach Patrick said.
I nodded and turned to go home.
'Y/n! Hey do you want a ride?' Monty started jogging to catch up to me.
'Sure.' I smiled.

I got in his car and we drove off. I turned on my phone and it was blowing up with messages from my parents.
'Shit. I forgot to tell Hannah to tell my parents about the detention.'
'It's fine, it's only a detention.' Monty tried to calm me down.
'Not to my parents. They think me and Hannah are angels and never do anything wrong.'
'It's fine, don't worry'

'Y/n, can I have your number. Uh.. for the history homework.' Monty asked.
'Mmm, maybe next time' I smiled. 'Bye Montgomery De la Cruz.'
'Bye Y/n Baker.' He drove off.

'What the hell Y/n! We've been calling you for an hour!' Mom came running towards me.
'Sorry, I had a detention. I forgot to tell Hannah to tell you.'
'Detention? On the first day! Y/n..' Dad said, dissappointed.
'Yeah but it's not that deep dad. Just a detention.'
'And who was that boy that dropped you off?' Mom asked. I knew this would happen.
'No one...' I sighed.
'Well, he's obviously someone. You're bright red.'
I walked past them up to my room.

They are so nosey. Even Hannah is sometimes.
I walked into her room.
'Hi Hannah. How was school?'
'Dead. I'm waiting for some guy to message me.' She smiled at the phone in her hand.
'What guy?'
'Justin Foley..'
'Wait, Kat's ex? What the fuck?' I scoffed.
'No, it's ok! I asked her and she said she moved on.'
'Still...'
'Whatever, I don't care what you think.' Hannah rolled her eyes. A notification came through on Hannah's phone.
'Hannah, it's Justin.' I chucked the phone at her.

'Hannah! You know I don't want you on the phone when there's homework!' Mom appeared at the doorway, arms crossed.
'Mom, she's just using a calculator.' I defended Hannah, although another notification came through.
'And I'm helping a friend with homework.' Hannah said.
'Mom, it's honestly fine. I've been here the whole time and this friend of hers was struggling with a maths problem and Hannah offered to help!' I stood up, grabbed mom's shoulders and pulled her out of Hannah's room.

'Ok, but only homework!' Mom had that stern look on her face.
'Yeah, yeah.' Hannah rolled her eyes, laughing. Mom went downstairs and I gave Hannah a thumbs up and shut her door. I could hear her giggling on the phone to Justin.

-----time jump-----

I was laying in bed when I heard Hannah come home. I went to her room.
'How was it?' I yawned.
'It was... good.' Hannah grinned.
'That's great. Night.' I smiled at her and walked over to my room.

-----time jump-----

In the morning, I went downstairs to get breakfast. I could hear Hannah talking to someone upstairs.
'Ok, the cost is clear, bye'
'Bye.' Justin Foley said to Hannah one last time and walked down our stairs, grinning.
'Bye Foley.' I said, without even looking at him.
'Bye Baker.'
