I wait anxiously now with Elena, hands ready to pull the dagger clips out of my hair at a moment's notice. We look down the hall to see Stefan walking towards us, Vicki in tow. I almost revel in the look on Stefan's face when he sees my costume. "Thank God." I breathe out at the sight of Vicki. I'm so glad she's not sucking Jeremy's blood right now.

"What's the matter?" He asks, keeping his hand on Vicki's arm. Elena looks around us, at the strobing lights and the people. How hard is it to find someone who isn't in a costume? She removes the stethoscope from around her neck, bunching it up in her hand and indicating around us.

"We lost track of Jeremy. I was worried." Elena glares at Vicki, both of us thinking the same thing. We can't trust her around him. I can't hear much around all the loud music and people. Every time I go out to something like this, I think it'll be fun until I stay there for like five minutes.

"What's going on?" I turn to see Matt walk up to us, joining our little group. Ah hell, this is why we need to keep people in the loop. I look to Stefan and Elena, raising an eyebrow. It's on them to lie, I'm not going to do it for them.

Stefan takes a deep breath and answers him. "Hey. Uh, everything's fine." God, is that the best lie he could come up with? I roll my eyes and sigh, flicking some of my hair out my face.

"We're trying to find Jeremy. Have you seen him?" I ask, solving two problems at once. Matt blinks at me, looking around us as well. He shakes his head, probably just as disoriented as we are. Jeremy really picked the perfect place to disappear.

Vicki takes that moment to rip her arm out of Stefan's grip. "I told you to quit bothering me." Ah ok, that's how we're playing it? Elena saddles up to Stefan, putting her arm around his waist. Stefan wraps his arm around hers in turn, the both of them turning to look at Vicki.

"No, Vicki don't do this." Elena pleads with her, but those two are not on the best of terms. Can I just leave and look for Jer? He probably isn't even inside, I bet he's outside by the stoner spot right now.

Vicki ignores her with a glare and turns to Matt, turning on the waterworks. "Matt, he won't leave me alone." Matt takes one look at Vicki's face before turning to Stefan, walking up to him like the protective brother he is.

"You need to back off, man." He steps up to him, puffing out his chest and everything. I hang back and keep an eye on Vicki, knowing that she's probably wanting to use this chaos to run and eat my cousin.

Elena steps up, putting a hand in between the two of them. "Matt it's, it's ok." She puts her hand on his chest but he doesn't listen to her, still stepping forward. I narrow my eyes at the smirk on Vicki's face.

"No, it's not ok. What the hell is your problem?" Matt steps forward even more, blocking my view of Vicki. I look around him, only to see that she's not there anymore. Fuck. Stupid fucking vampire speed. I send Elena a look before leaving the three of them. They can work through their drama, I'm going to protect Jeremy.

I weave between people, taking advantage of my short stature to get through here quicker. I check the rooms quickly, but the feeling in my stomach is telling me to go outside. I follow the feeling, getting out by the school buses.

"Vicki, Vicki, what the hell?" I hear Jeremy call out. I pull the dagger clips out of my hair, my curls falling down even more as the daggers elongate in my hands. They fit perfectly, like they're meant to be there. I feel something wild come alive in my blood, like a storm raging. It's not anger, and it's not exactly adrenalin. Though that's taking part in it too. Maybe this is what it means to be a Valkyrie. For my body to call to battle like this.

Everything feels sharper. My eyesight, the smells, the sounds, the feel of the blades in my hand. It's like I'm on overdrive. But I can't let myself dwell on it, I have to run over to Jeremy. "No, stop, Vicki! Agh!" I hear Jeremy yell out. I run over, seeing Vicki on top of Jeremy and attacking him. I don't have enough skill with these daggers to throw them accurately. But I can try, it's not like she's moving. And she's in front of Jeremy.
