A year passed and so much had changed.

Hazel and Claude were always together as that was their love language.

She needed to know he was around and he needed to know she was safe.

It was constant as they explored different emotions and feelings together.

The gang that wanted her dead was killed by Claude and the gang he was involved in and she was welcome to walk away from the mansion and leave everything behind but she didn't.

She couldn't leave the man that made her feel happy and safe.

It was early as Hazel sat in the garden as she read a book under a large umbrella so she didn't get burnt by the scolding sun.

Claude had been feeling with constant phone calls all morning and she knew that he needed to be alone as he yelled and swore to the person on the phone.

She hadn't seen his rage since the early days of their relationship and she hated it as the flashbacks always left her feeling paranoid and sad.

She was still clueless about his job as he constantly told her that telling her would put a target on her back and neither of them wanted that.

Hazel focused on the love story she was reading as she read about a forbidden romance.

She felt herself fall into a trance because of it.

It was as if everything melted away.

Suddenly she heard a large smash coming from the mansion.

She looked up before seeing Claude throwing anything he could get his hands on leaving the floor covered in glass and other things.

She then went back to her book knowing that once he calmed down she would be left to clean up.

Time passed as she knelt on the floor in the lounge as she cleaned up the glass and other things that were the leftovers fromClaudes rage as he drank in his study.

She didn't want to get involved until he was ready to talk.

She knew his tempers too well to do something stupid like ask him if he was alright when she knew he was anything but that.

She picked up a large piece of a broken vase before hearing glass shattering.

She looked around before realising that it was most likely Claude.

She continued to clean before freezing as a hand wrapped around her mouth with a cloth on its palm.

She tried to get out of the tight hold before feeling light-headed.

She then heard gunshots before she collapsed.

Hazel fell onto the floor causing glass and ceramic to pierce her skin.

Suddenly she could feel anything at all as the drug in her system took over.
