Forgive me/ninjago fanfic/ crystalised rewrite

Chapter 5

"This isn't the pizza delivery guy" The tall man was charcoal black in colour, he wore a black samurai helmet along with some purple robes and a beige cardigan over the top.

"I thought you disappeared! Why didn't you tell me you were in ninjago city?'' Lloyd asked, staring at his dad in disbelief.

"I didn't want to get involved, you ninja always bring trouble and I'm quite frankly tired of it"

"Oh hello brother" he waved over to Wu.

"What are you doing living in an apartment?" Lloyd pondered.

"Oh its Vinny's! Im his roommate. See i'm trying to learn more about being compassionate and kind so I thought why not start with the man who showed me kindness and explained to me how family was important" He smiled a smile that made all his sharp teeth show, it showed off more of a creepy smile than a genuine one.

"Uhmm well thats great!" Lloyd spoke looking at his father.

"Hold up why do you only have two arms?"

"Oh, probably because I haven't been destroying things like usual"Garmadon shrugged

"Were you the one sending us the newspaper clippings?" Wu asked curiously.

"Yep, I was doing it to warn you but like I said I didn't want to get involved sooo there you have it. Besides its not like my warnings helped much" He rolled his eyes "I can tell he's back, I was watching the news and saw that weird crystal temple in the rice fields,"

"I was only just figuring it out" Wu said "but by then it was too late" he sighed, Garmadon rolled his eyes once more.

"Oh well it was a lovely chat, goodbye now!" Garmadon went to shut the door but Lloyd stopped him.

"Wait, dad could I ask you something?"

"You just did" Lloyd facepalmed.

"So I recently experienced this weird feeling of rage and I couldn't control it, I saw myself become an oni" Garmadon's face went serious.

"An oni?" He asked, the blonde nodded in response.

"I didn't think you had that in you!" Garmadon gave him a pat on the back "Its very much controllable or else I would have killed everyone a long time ago" he gave a laugh "I'll teach you I guess, but this doesn't mean i'm going to get involved with your silly adventures and hero things". 

Lloyd gave a thankful nod he knew that deep down his father still had love for him, he just had trouble showing it. Just as they were about to turn around a loud crash echoed through the building. The explosion came from one of the crystal dragons, they could see the blue sky now and even more clearly: The crystal kings floating temple.

Garmadon rushed over to where the apartment was half broken to a small fern.

"Christofern no!" He yelled.

"Umm- dad? Who's christofern?" Lloyd asked perplexed by his fathers reaction.

"I belive he's speaking about the plant" Wu pointed towards the potted fern that was burnt on some of its leaves, along with the pot being broken.

"Damn you stupid crystal dragons" Garmadon grew horns from the top of his head along with gaining a pair of wings and his four arms once more. Lloyd watched his dad fighting off vengestone warriors which were smaller humanoid versions of the crystal king, a bit like rats combined with Draconic creatures. He shot at them with his oni power: destruction, this did in fact help to defeat them.

"Impressive, it seems the power of oni can wear them off but elemental ones cannot" Wu looked at Lloyd with a glint of hope in his eyes. 

Harumi was in the same place she was a while ago, so deep in thought that she didn't realise when Lloyd and the others came back onto the bounty.

"You never told me she was alive!" Garmadon shouted at Lloyd.

"It wasn't really that important at the time" Lloyd shook his head. Harumi looked up and quickly shuffled to stand up.

"Lord Garmadon" Nya grumpily walked over and pushed Harumi away from him.

"Yea there's no way we're gonna let these two interact? Didn't you see what happened last time?"

"There's no problem, I am clearly a redeemed soul" Garmadon crossed his arms.

"Redeemed? But how! I only resurrected the evil part" Harumi thought to herself.

"Its a good thing too, he can assist Lloyd with his oni form" Wu said.

"Oni form?" Nya raised her eyebrow looking over at Lloyd.

"Right yes I still have to explain everything to you, I'll tell you as we go to find the others" Lloyd, Nya, Wu and Garmadon walked up the bounties second level where the control panel and steering wheel was. The sky was a calm blue for such a stressful day, the bounty zoomed past buildings where people calmly sat and talked almost as if impending doom weren't right around the corner. Soon enough the city buildings dispersed until it was just grass and rice fields on the ground.

"Kai, Jay, Cole and zane were coming to get you so be prepared to get on the bounty" Nya alerted the others. Vehicles could be heard zooming along on the ground as the bounty started to go down just low enough to allow the four ninja to jump on.

"That was a hard fight, some of the citizens are infected with these weird purple crystals that make them go all zombie like" jay exclaimed. "One of them almost got me"

"Thankfully pixel said she would find a way to coat them, so that our vehicles will be better protected from all this crystal stuff. I managed to grab her a piece of it. This will hopefully make them easier to study" Zane explained.

"Can't believe the overlord is back...does this mean he's immortal?" Kai turned to face Wu.

"I believe every fight he gets weakened for a long time, the evil seems to fuel him" Wu pondered.

"It doesn't seem to, it quite literally does. Feelings of hatred, revenge and any other forms of evil thoughts do" Garmadon affirmed.

"Well no wonder he's so powerful, he's hanging around with Harumi after all" Kai laughed as he tended to make jokes when in a stressful situation.

 "That would make a lot of sense" Harumi came up beside him nodding. This made Kai jump back in surprise before quickly gathering his thoughts, his hazel eyes met her blue ones as he lunged towards her.

"You little-...how did you sneak on?" Kai demanded.

"I didn't sneak on" Harumi huffed trying to pull the sudden attacker off by kicking him but Kai didn't budge.

"Kai, kai it's ok she's with us" Lloyd grunted as he tried to pull Kai away.

"Seriously?, didn't she kidnap you? And then try to murder us not for the first time by the way" Kai pulled his hand away but kept his grip aggressively on Harumi.

"Fair thought, but see the thing is none of this was really her fault, she was being controlled by the overlord she didn't have control over her mind" Lloyd explained.

"I can promise you all that i'm trying to change for the better" Harumi added in "of course I don't except to be believed nor do I blame any of you if you don't"

"Fine then I guess you can stay around, since Lloyd wants to" Kai muttered "but if you betray us again I swear on my life you'll wish that building had killed you" Harumi gave a small nod as she understood not to respond in a sassy way, not if she didn't want to cause any trouble. She stood up as soon as Kai got off, she brushed herself off. However then she felt something slowly start creeping into her mind, the feeling was odd like her conscience was fading away.
