Red and blue lights flashed every second. Josh and Luke got out of their car and they made their way towards the scene. Their captain, Wendy Takashi pulled them to the side.

"The victim is another cop. Based on the street cameras, we're dealing with two killers"

Josh frowned.

"Two?"

Wendy nodded.

"Yeah. I'll have forensics send you a copy of the video. In the meantime get to the scene and investigate, I'm heading back to the station"

"Alright"

Luke pulled the yellow tape over their heads as they stepped inside the crime scene. Josh put on a pair of gloves and walks around, looking at the ground. Luke on the otherhand was with the mortician looking at the body.

"That's too much blood" Luke says.

"I agree. The victim suffered multiple stab wounds to the chest and back. He practically drowned in his own blood"

"Jesus....same MO?"

"Possibly but I'll know more when I get to the lab"

Luke nods and finds Josh kneeling down, using twizzers to pull at something.

"What's that?"

"A hair. Possibly female. The strand is purple, doesn't look dyed. So one of the killers is an omega"

Omegas tend to have colourful hair and eyes, this was made as to be attractive to their partners at all times. Betas have colourful eyes and the alphas just have strong facial features, the ones that make omegas swoon over and over again.

Luke nodded and handed Josh an evidence bag.

"Bag it and lets head to the station"

"The car didn't hit her. He was going 50km/h and he could've seen her seconds before. But looking at the video, it seemed she appeared right in front of the car"

Josh frowned, looking at the street camera. He slows the video down and watched closely.

"She had a black tarp covering and hiding her. She was laying on the opposite lane and when the car approached, she jump scared him"

The forensics agent nodded.

"Makes sense now. But look at how she's stabbing him"

"It's messy and sloppy. She's an amateur"

They frown when they see a flash from the far right.

"That must be the real killer. It looks like....a lesson on murder"

The door opens as Luke enters the room.

"The victim is Iyo Brailes. 35, alpha and he was stabbed seven times. Three on the chest and four in the back, puncture wounds show same murder weapon as the one used to kill Melissa Caux"

Josh frowned. Same weapon, targeted certain group of people, all taking place at night, no evidence left behind.

"It seems we have serial killers in our city"

Luke nodded in agreement.

"I'll notify the cap, hopefully she gets to let the public know before the press get a whiff of this topic"

"Two officers, murdered in a gruesome manner. We as the Sanju Police department will not allow this to continue anymore. From now on, you will not make an arrest without a partner. Pair up, have someone watching your back. Keep your eyes open and your ears listening. We need to catch these fuckers before they strike again!"

The officers gave her a salute.

"Yes Captain!" They roared in confidence. Wendy nodded and walked back to her office. Josh and Luke were patiently waiting.

"So how was the big night?" She asked as she sat down. Josh blushed while Luke chuckled.

"It was fun...until we got the call"
"Well I'm sorry for that. Anyway, I asked the both of you here for a special case. I want you two to lead the serial killer case. You two have the best records in the city and I'm sure you'll catch these crazy fuckers faster."

"We appreciate it cap." Luke says.

There was a knock on the door and the officer called for Josh.

"Excuse me" Josh said and left the office. Luke turned to Wendy.

"When did you know Josh and I were....a couple"

"I see you two all the time. The flirting, the sexual tension. As an alpha, it's not hard to spot such things"

"Mhm, that's right" Luke says, he had forgotten that the captain was an alpha, she had long black hair and brown eyes. Her face was like it was made from pure marble, it was flawless and her cheekbones were so well defined, Luke swore he could cut ham with them. Wendy was single, her last relationship was with some omega that ran away due to family problems. She hasn't dated since.

"Take care of him Luke, this job as you know was not made for omegas. If he gets hurt, it'd change everything"

"I know. I think this will be his last case, we're planning on making a family in six weeks"

"Wow! That's great to hear but also sad because I'll be losing one of the best detectives here"

The door opens as Josh returned. He slapped a picture on the table. Luke and Wendy look at it.

"What's that"

"Our possible murder weapon. 23cm long and 3mm thick. An ice pick"

Luke and Wendy look at each other in shock.

"Well, that narrows everything down" Wendy said.

"I'll go look up old cases with have similar characteristics"

He tucked his daughter in and grabbed the nearest book but he was stopped.

"Tell me about him again"

He chuckles.

"Alright. Two years ago, after your mother's funeral I saw a man. I had been sitting by your mother's grave and saw this man walk by a few feet away, he had beautiful pink hair and adorable pink eyes. I continued to look at this man and he turned to me and smiled...he smiled the way your mother used to smile at me but I was wrong, he didn't smile at me. He was smiling at another man...they hugged for some time and they left and I was back to my sadness"

"Did you not see him again"

"I saw him three days later. I was in a cafe, having some tea and he entered, he sat next to me and I could smell him, he smelled like cupcakes, very nice right? He looked at me and smiled and I smiled back, we had a connection so I vowed to take him"

"Is that why....we're doing this?"

He nods.

"We're taking away everyone who is close to him then I'll come to him when he was sad like me and we'd be together...forever"

He looks up to find his daughter softly snoring.

"Goodnight, Vanessa"
