The following day, Josh and Luke were at work. The two detectives were going through their evidence once again. After Luke had said he felt like they missed something, Josh felt the urge to find out what it was.

"Same murder weapon. Victims have the same line of work. The murders are random" Josh says, writing on his whiteboard.

"Well not technically. Two were at night and one was during the day." Luke pointed out.

Josh nodded and stepped back.

"Two at night. Which means....two during the day?"

Luke nodded, it could be possible.

"Everyone is partnered up now, the murderer couldn't kill so easily"

"Well he studied Melissa and Iyo so maybe the killer will wait until the potential victim is home?" Josh said.

The office door opened and Wendy stepped inside. She slapped a newspaper on Josh's desk.

"The picture is out. The public now knows there's killer on the loose"

"Good. Now we move on to stage two" Josh says catching the attention of his colleagues.

"Which is?" Luke inquired.

"We establish a curfew. Judging by the first two murders, the victims were attacked between 11pm and 4am so if we establish a curfew, we might catch suspects"

"That'll take time. Plus the vitcims are police officers, the mayor doesn't take it that seriously"

Luke frowned.

"How could the mayor not take this seriously? If the police are getting killed, crime rates will increase"

"Which means more corrupt business deals that go to the mayor's pocket" Wendy states making Josh sighed.

"What now?"

"Keep your elbow tucked, now throw!"

The knife made a swoosh sound before it hit the target, the tree bark fell to the ground leaving the silver knife deep inside the tree flesh. Liam smiled at his daughter.

"Perfect"

"Yay!"

He hands her another knife and this time he places a plushie on top of a log.

"Look at the doll, concentrate on where you want to throw the knife. Close your eyes, deep breaths and throw it, got it?"

"Mhm"

"Okay, do it"

He watched her follow his instructions, his eyes widened when Vanessa threw the knife, stabbing the plushie on the stomach sending it to the ground. He clapped his hands.

"Excellent! I think you're ready for some fun"

"Where are we going this time?"

"Hm...how about the bank? We can show a nice man your knife throwing skills"

Vanessa nodded and offered her father a smile. If she gets to be a good girl, her father will spend more time with her.

"Okay"

Luke watched Josh pace back and forth in his office. He clears his throat and the omega turned to him.

"What's up?"

"You're pacing. What's wrong?"

Josh sighed and sat down.

"You were right. We are missing something. This murders cannot be just random. This must have been planned way ahead."

"Possibly....I'll go to the security department and run the murderer's face in out tapes"

"Alright"

Josh watched Luke leave and he sighed. Normally solving a case for them took less than a week, but now they're on the tenth day and they still can't find a motive.

"Something is up"

Sanju national bank, the oldest building in the city. The bank was not that busy, three tellers were working and each had a line of about 10-15 people.

"Okay Nessa, let's do this and go out for pizza and ice cream"

"Okay"

They enter the bank, Liam holding Vanessa's hand, the girl was holding a pink barbie backpack with seven throwing knives inside.

Liam leaves her at the waiting area as he goes to stand in line. The man in front of him had on a police uniform. He smirks and pokes him on the back.

"Hey there cutie, why are you all alone?"

The man turned around in rage, pushing Liam to the point the man fell on the white tiled floor.

"What did you say?" The man asked. Ah, he was an alpha, Liam thought.

"My bad. I thought you were my grindr date. We agreed to meet here"

The officer scoffed and turned back around. Liam stood up and walked back to Vanessa as he dusted himself off.

"This one is pretty strong. Let's wait until he's outside" he said making Vanessa nod.

Suddenly Liam is pulled back by the arm. It was the same officer.

"Don't I know you from somewhere?"

Liam smirked.

"I knew you were faking. How about we go outside and I'll find a toilet with a glory hole hm?"

The officer scowled and held Liam tighter.

"I definitely know you from somewhere. I'm taking you in"

Liam rolled his eyes.

"For what? Flirting with you? Is your masculinity that fragile princess?"

The officer hauled Liam outside and Vanessa followed behind them. Once they were near the squad car, Liam began to speak.

"You know officer, I think you do know me."

"I knew it. How?"

"How did you become a cop? How can you forget the face of a wanted killer?"

Feeling the grip on his hands loosen, Liam took advantage and punched the officer on the gut making the man to hunch over.

"Now, Nessa!"

It was like cutting silk with a pair of new scissors. All seven knives stuck on the officer's back, then there was a scream followed by more.

Liam began to laugh as he watched the officer fall on his face, a pool of blood forming around his torso.

"Krasna"

Luke came rushing inside Josh's office. Josh looked at him in shock.

"I found something!" The beta said. Josh was about to respond when their radios went off.

"Code 140 at Sanju national bank! I repeat code 140 at Sanju national bank!"

They look at each other in shock before they grabbed their things and hurried outside.

"It happened again" Josh says as Luke started the car.

"And we still haven't held the funerals of the first victims" Luke whispers. Josh shook his head. How could this possible?
