We were dropped off by the cruise ship at the start of the island and told to survive the rest of the week. All the students began to run inside the jungle while me and Kushida simply walked towards our destination that I told her about. As the ship was circling the island I evaluated the place while the other students were busy talking amongst each other. This way I realized where the best places to place the safe zones would be and I relayed that information to Kushida.

"Sounds good then I will follow your lead Ayanokoji" a smiling Kushida looked at me and I noticed from the corner of my eye Ike's annoyed face who was crushing one of the water bottles that we were provided before Shinohara smacked him on the head and told him not to waste their water supply.

As we started walking in the jungle Kushida started sticking really close to me and grabbed my arm.

"Kushida, what's wrong?"

"Oh it's nothing I'm just a little scared of large jungles you never know when a wild animal might come at you."

"You do know the school made sure to check for animals before picking this spot for a special exam so the only sound you will ever hear would be from birds not any wild animals." I tried to comfort her fear by telling her this but it seemed to have the opposite effect on her as she let go of my arm and smacked it really hard while her face became red.

"Of course I know that, I was just making sure because you never know when the school might make a mistake or something." As she said this her face continued to grow red.

"Alright let's keep moving forward."

We continued to head towards the path which I believed would lead us to the best possible safe zone. After about 10 minutes or so we finally arrived at the place and sure enough it had everything to satisfy our needs and more.

The place had a water fall which created a river stream and a lot of trees that gave us shade while an appropriate amount of sunlight also shunned in the area. The trees in the area had many different types of fruits attached to them and the river stream had fish to catch for us. This truly was the best possible place on the island as it provided us with ample food and water supply and a safe place to set up tent under the tree shade.

"Wow Ayanokoji you really weren't kidding when you said you knew the best place on the island. This place has everything for us! I'm so glad we don't have to work hard for the next two days, let's sign in now before someone tries to steal this place from us."

As we signed in to the safe zone with our card it also required us to leave a voice print of both Kushida and me after that a red line barrier appeared along the safe area. I assume if anyone other than Kushida and me steps across the red line it will immediately let the teachers know and those students will be disqualified.

"Wow this is a neat way to make sure no one else comes in the area, I feel a lot safer now don't you Ayanokoji?"

"Yeah this way it can really be just you and me in this area."

"Ok I will set up our tent while you go gather the fruit from these trees Ayanokoji"

"Alright" after I was assigned my task by Kushida I started to gather the different types of fruit this area provided us with and made sure to gather a lot of them so we can have a little now and some for dinner.

As I returned from completing my task Kushida had finished setting up the tent and had also change into something more fitting for survival in the jungle.

"Wow those look delicious Ayanokoji put them down beside here and let's start making a bonfire. One of us should also head back to the starting point in order for us to buy a fishing rod to catch these fish otherwise it would be a waste not to have them for dinner no?" She really knows the essentials to survival in a place like this, it made me glad to have a partner like her on my side.

"It's not a problem, I can catch them with my hands just give me a moment to change my clothes and put on something more durable for this place."

"You can actually catch them with your hands? Is there anything you can't do?"

"Of course I am human after all. Like most I don't know how to love another person or treat them properly, I make mistakes when it comes to understanding the meaning behind this life and I can't show people who I really am because I can't truly be myself around others." After I said this I wondered why I said this to her. She probably doesn't even care about any of it but I wanted her to know how similar we are, I wanted her to know that I'm just like her but why?

After hearing me say this Kushida became silent for a while as she just stared at me.

"I guess you really are like me after all" as she said this a feeling of closeness came in between us as we both realized just how much we need each other in this school because no one accept us can understand one another and what it means to hide yourself from the people around you.

We continued looking at each other as I sat down close to her, it felt good being around her I felt normal for once and then it happened.

I ended up revealing my true face to her filled with emptiness and emotionless.

"Just how much have you gone through in your life, that much darkness at our age already." I walked away I couldn't possibly see the look of horror on her face like the others she probably thinks I'm inhuman, she probably will get scared of me if I continue to be around her right now.

"Wait Ayanokoji, don't go! Please don't go!! I'm not scared of you, I know you think I will be but I'm not!!!" I heard Kushida say something but I was too far away from her and I didn't care if I did heard her or not right now I just wanted to distance myself.

I started walking deeper in the jungle as I thought now would be a good time to deal with our traitor who's been leaking information about our class. I texted my old "friend" and asked her to lure him to a specific area of the jungle where I could find him.

"Now time to see how much damage you have done Yamauchi"
