The Elemental Hymn

Chapter 2: The mission

At morning

Isaac sat up wiping his eyes, when he opened his eyes, he is back at the chamber where Mila was working on the clay vessels. He even saw his brother Destin sleeping at the corner, but he also saw his other brother Caelum sleeping near the work area. Caelum wore the same outfit that Destin is wearing, but the robe has a cyan color blending with black. Then Julius and Mila came into the chamber, seeing that the two brothers have successfully revived their third brother, had to wake the other two up.

"I see you're already up, Isaac" said Mila.

"Heh, I woke up to see that I'm back here. Last night, I was trying to check on my brothers but I ended up passing out on the floor" said Isaac.

"You should thank me, for I have found you laying on the floor unconscious. I had to grab you by the ankle and drag you back here, and I wasn't happy about setting up traps to slow the heroes down all night" said Julius.

Isaac chuckled sheepishly, before getting up.

Julius had to get the other brothers to wake up, and have them stand next to each other.

"Now you have woken up, here is the mission: I want you triplets to stop the heroes from reaching at the top of the Wind Tower. According to my men's observation: the heroes consists of a female water magician, a brash male fire magician, and a male enchanter who is an expert swordsman. If you kill them, then you are now members of the Black Leaves organization" announced Julius.

All three brothers grinned maliciously at the thought, but Mila cleared her voice.

"But if you fail, expect us to send you back into the urns. Understand?" She added.

"Understood" all three replied simultaneously.

With that done, the three brothers went downstairs to the fourth floor. When they reached at the bottom stairs, they are met with the three heroes that fit the description from Julius.

"Who are you three?" Asked Nathan.

"Heh, you should know who we are" said Destin in an arrogant tone.

"You... You three are the Noctua brothers, aren't you!?" Said Sophia in a surprised tone.

"We've got a winner!" Said Isaac with a smirk.

"How was it possible? I thought you three were dead!" Said William.

"We were dead, until a certain woman from the Black Leaves brought us back to life" replied Caelum.

"Figures, then we might as well put you back to the grave!" Said Nathan.

William casts a stream of fire at Destin, but the Noctua brother smirked as he redirects it back. It was due to the fact that Destin is also a fire magician like William.

Lucky for William, Sophia saved him by conjuring a stream of water to douse the flames.

Nathan ran towards Isaac, sword in hand, and swing his sword at the light magician. Unfortunately, Isaac caught the blade with both hands.

"Such a shame! You should've come at me with fists!" Said Isaac in a mocking tone.

"Lucky for you, I'm an enchanter! I already enchanted my sword with electricity!" Replied Nathan.

"What!?" Said Isaac in disbelief.

The blade became wreathed in electricity and electrocute the light magician, causing him to scream in pain. Then the other two Noctua brothers stop fighting and looked at Isaac with concern on their faces, this provides a distraction for William to punch Caelum in the face hard that the air magician was knocked unconscious. Then Isaac let go of the blade before collapsing on the floor, with steam coming from his body.

"Isaac! Caelum!" Destin called out in a worried tone.

"Don't worry, we have to win! Otherwise, the organization will kill us!" Said Isaac as he slowly got up on his feet.

Destin barred his teeth, trying to hold back the anger towards the heroes for hurting his brothers. He casts a large fireball towards the heroes, intending to incinerate them. However, Sophia counteract this by creating a barriers made of water before shooting an orb of water at him, thus getting him wet. Since he's a fire magician, getting wet from water causes his powers to weaken.

Then it's Isaacs turn, he conjured orbs made of black light and have it blast beams at the trio. Then the trio quickly dodged the beams, but they knew he was very angry. Isaac blasts a beam of black light at Sophia, but she created a reflective shield of ice. The beam bounces off the shield of ice and it was headed towards his direction, causing his eyes to widen in fear. He dodged his own attack, but it grazed his shoulder, and he grunt in pain.

"Alright, let's fall back brothers!" He said while trying to keep the pain in check.

Destin hurried over to Caelum and dragged his unconscious body away, while Isaac glared at the heroes as he placed his hand on where the wound is to keep it from bleeding.

"Don't think you've won. You may have defeated us, but you will have a hard time with Julius and Mila!" Said Isaac, before leaving with his brothers.

The three brothers retreated back to the fifth floor, only to find Julius was standing at the entrance. From the looks of it, he wasn't happy.

"I see that the trio proved to be much trouble for you to handle" he said.

"That water magician is the one who wiped the floor with us, and if it weren't for that brat, Caelum could've defeated her with his lightning magic!" Destin complained.

"I see, then I have no choice but defeat these brats with Mila. Consider yourselves having failed the mission" he said coldly.

"Wait! Give us another chance!" Begged Isaac.

It was too late, all four of Julius's men have placed bags on each of the Noctua brothers heads.

"Take them to the Black Leaves headquarters, I'm sure that his imperial majesty will have to deal with them" ordered Julius.

"Sir, yes sir!" Replied the soldiers.
