Glossary: ancient elemental tribes

Five thousand years ago, it was in between the copper age and the bronze. Various people throughout the ancient world started to exhibit the ability to cast magic and manipulate the elements, and thus the elemental tribes have formed. It was said that they built the elemental structures to amplify their powers, but the real purpose is this: someone had tampered with the elements to the point that they run amok, and the elemental structures were built to stabilize the elements. Not only that, but each of the ancient tribes have started to build their own civilization that rely on the elements to live a life of luxury. Eventually, wars have erupted when some of the nations got too greedy, and this results in each of the ancient tribes to shut down the elemental structures to prevent the war. Afterwards, they eventually disappeared while some of the tribes chose a life without relying on the elements.

List of tribes:

Aquan: a tribe of water magicians who were originally nomadic seafaring pirates, until they eventually settled down on an island before moving to the mainland. Their leader is Doris, who eventually married to the chieftain of the Tellus. Their culture is based on early Greece and the cyclades.

Equinox: a tribe of light magicians who studied the stars as astrologers, they were also curious about the planets. Their leader is Ur- Pabilsag, who not only married a fire magician from the Ignis tribe, but was the first man to form a kingdom throughout the continent of Leikios. Their culture is based on early Mesopotamia and Elam.

Tellus: a tribe of earth magicians who cultivated plants and shaped the soil, they're also experts in stone masonry and pottery. Their leader is Basselt, who eventually married to Doris soon after the alliance. Their culture is the least developed compared to the other tribes, but it is reminiscent to the Celts and Germania.

Ignis: a tribe of fire magicians who are expert in smithing, they utilized fire and magma to melt ore and forged it into anything (weapons, armor, tools, etc). They also invented a steam powered ship made from iron, and were the first tribe to be technologically advanced through steam and smithing. Their leader is  Scorpion the first, who united most of the villages to form a kingdom the similar way that Ur- Pabilsag had done. Their culture is a mix between Rome and early Egypt.

Zephyr: a tribe of air magicians who manipulates the weather, they used wind and electricity to create the world's first air ship. Other than that, but it is unknown about what they do other than sailing through the sky. They also had built cities that float in the sky, but their home land is where the wind tower is located at. Their leader is Ukok, a noble princess who is also a warrior. Their culture is a mix of Scythia, Mongolia, and Russia.

Umbra: a tribe of dark magicians who controls the shadows, they are rather mysterious other than that they were wise. They once built a structure that harnesses the power of darkness, but ended up sinking into the bottomless pit. They were well respected by the Equinox due to light and dark needing each other to exist, but there are dissenters who believed that darkness consumes all. Their leader is Pakal, the wisest ruler and friend to Ur- Pabilsag. Their culture is a blend of central and South american.

Each of the rulers were heralded as heroes who fought against a mysterious foe who caused the elements to go haywire, but despite this, a few of them lost their lives fight against the foe. When eleanor went back in time, her main mission is to save Doris and Basselt from whatever caused their deaths. Even when some of the ancient tribes have disappeared, the ruins and artifacts they left behind are the legacy that modern magicians can explore. The Black Leaves however, seek to restore the ancient civilizations in order to rule the world unopposed, but were hindered by the Order of the Nations.
