(Thiri's POV)

We were all at Amy's house, waiting for her to return with the DIY package.

When she returned, instead of coming back with a large box, she set down a small box on the table.

"Thanks for helping me put together my Björnvaalden bookcase. I got it from that foreign build your own furniture store!"

Tails asked, "That's it?"

"Ah, you'd be surprised at how much they can fit in one little box!"

I munched on an apple, Sonic heading to the box.

As soon as he opened it, the contents flew out like fireworks.

When everything was out, we were all buried in building materials.

Albeit muffled, I asked Amy, "Just how many pieces did you order again?"

Later, they were trying to figure out how to put the bookshelf together, fumbling with the pieces.

I, on the other hand, wasn't going to stick around.

I headed back to my house, and after getting changed into my bathing suit, I made my way to the secret hot spring hidden deep in the forest.

Putting my axe down, I slowly made my way into the water, the healing properties of the ancient hot spring relieving the immense pain and exhaust of training 22 hours every day.

(Sigh)

...

(Distant commotion)

My eyes snapped awake, and I stood up in the water, hand to my ear while I grabbed my axe.

...

The town was in danger!

With sheer strength, I launched myself through the forest, flying like an arrow past the trees until I got to the village.

Before the assailant could lay a finger on Sonic, I knocked him out of the way with the dull end of my axe.

Dripping wet, I held my ground, heavily breathing while I was in front of the black hedgehog on the ground.

"Hey, no fair!"

I turned to Dr. Eggman, seething with rage.

"YOU."

Upon seeing my crazed state, he tried to leave in his Eggmobile, but I lunged at him, axe overhead.

Before I could attack, the black hedgehog struck me down.

I landed against a boulder, my head spinning.

"Shadow... You...You saved me!"

"Quiet, you imbecile."

While he wasn't paying attention, I lunged at the hedgehog, blade pointed right at his face.

To my surprise, he caught it before it could reach him.

"Shadow, is it? Even though you tried to hurt the bravest warrior I have ever fought alongside, you are still a worthy adversary."

"You're not so bad yourself."

As if by a massive burst of adrenaline, I lifted Shadow up as he held onto my axe, spinning it over my head like a baton until he flew off, landing in what I could only assume was the bookcase.

By the looks of it, he was too banged up to fight.

After regaining his composure, Shadow said, "We'll fight again soon, Sonic, but next time, on my terms."

He left, and Sonic and the others celebrated before angrily turning to Dr. Eggman.

"Now guys, let's not point fingers about who's to blame for this little scuffle..."

Apart from Sonic, Tails and the others played volleyball with the Eggmobile, Sonic heading over to me as I caught my breath.

"You okay, Thiri?"

(Panting)

"Yeah...just...a little...tired..."

My legs prematurely gave out, Sonic catching me before plopping me on his back.

"C'mon, let's get you home."
