Chapter 4: Guilt Tripping

(Thiri's P.O.V)

Sonic, Tails and I were racing on the hoverboards he invented, mine black with a skull-print. Tails then said, "You might be faster on foot, but I invented these things!" Tails then did a flip, overtaking Sonic, and Sonic then responded, "Not bad! My turn!" Sonic then overtook Tails and I, and he then winked at me, but he then hit a branch, then he hit two trees, and he then fell to the ground, and I got off my hoverboard, and Tails approached him, but I ran to him as he recovered from the fall, and I then said, "Are you okay?" Sonic responded, "Yeah, I'm fine." Tails then said, "Wow! That was the coolest thing I've ever seen!" Sonic responded, "Really?" Tails responded, "You look cool even when you're making a complete fool of yourself!" I then punched Tails in the arm, and I saw Sonic going to get his hoverboard, but he then noticed something, and I looked in the distance, and I saw some Weasel Bandits robbing a tribe of villagers! Sonic then grabbed me by the arm, and he then said to me and Tails, "Woah! We gotta stop those jerks!" Sonic then sped towards the village, carrying me by my arm, and we entered the village, and Sonic then said to the leader of the villagers, "What's going on here?" The leader responded, "Oh, these delightful young men were just ransacking our poor village *Puts a bag of money in a Weasel Bandit's bag* and taking all of our possesions." Another villager then said, "They probably need them more than we do, being bandits living on the land and all." I responded, "You can't just let them take your stuff! They're dirty, theiving crooks!" One of the bandits then walked up to me, getting close in my face, and he then said, "Heh, you know us too well, sweetheart. So why don't you skedaddle away, cause' this is what we do." I growled, and Sonic then said, "Oh yeah, well this is what we do!" Sonic then spin-dashed into the weasel bandits, and I then used my wire to pummel them and disorient them, both me and Sonic rendering them dizzy, and then Tails passed Sonic a nearby vine attatched to a tree, and Sonic then tied them up with it as Tails pulled on the vine. One of the Weasel Bandits then said, "Ugh! This isn't over!" Tails then released his grip on the vine, and the Weasel Bandits then were launched into the sky, and the Weasel Bandit then shouted as he flew into the air, "I spoke too soon!" The leader then walked up to us and said, "Thank you, strange travellers, you have saved us Gogobas from the scourage of the Weasel Bandits, and scattered our belongings carelessly across the dirt." Tails responded, "Sorry, I'll help pick 'em up." A female Gogoba responded, "Oh no, we wouldn't want to trouble you. I'll do it myself. It probably won't cause my chronic back pain to flare up too much." I then heard a crack, and I looked worriedly at the Gogoba, and I then went to help her, but the leader stopped me, and he then said, "Oh don't worry about her, she'll pass out from the pain soon. In the meantime, the rest of us will throw our valiant heroes and heroine a victory feast." Two Gogobas then brought a table full of food to us, and Sonic then said, "Thanks, but we really gotta-"  The leader responded, "It's okay, we know how busy you are. Within a few months, this will turn into compost, and we'll be able to grow new food to eat." Sonic responded, "Um, well I guess we could stay for a quick bite." The leader responded, "Wonderful!" Three Gogobas then brought us chairs, and we sat down. I then looked at Sonic and Tails, and we looked at each other, before Sonic and Tails started eating, I looked at the food, and I picked up an orange, but I noticed the Gogobas staring at me. Sonic and Tails then noticed, and Sonic then said, "Um, aren't you guys gonna eat?" I then said, "Yeah, you guys must be starving!" The leader responded, "Oh, no. We'd much rather watch you enjoy your food." A female Gogoba then said, "That's the only nourishment we need. *Her stomach growls* That was a growl of joy." I looked at a young Gogoba, who gave me big, sad eyes that were welled up with tears, and I sniffled, and I then slipped him my orange from under the table. Tails then said, "These Gogobas are so nice!" Sonic responded, "Yeah, so why do I feel so terrible?" Tails responded, "We gotta get outta here." I noticed Sonic getting up, and I saw three Gogobas walk in with more food, and they stopped walking as he stood up and dropped the fruit he was eating on the table. Sonic then said, "That was really...delicious, we loved it, loved, loved, loved it, but we...should probably get going." A small Gogoba then pulled me by the arm, looking sadly at me, and I sniffled, and the leader then said, "Of course, of course! Why would you want to stay with us when we made you this incredible meal?" Tails responded, "No, we do wanna stay, it's just that--" One of the Gogobas responded, "Wonderful! Allow us to prepare your accomodations." The leader then said, "Oh, and your female friend, we need her to help us with the nursery!" The leader then said as we walked toward the nursery, "Our caretakers are all sick, and we have nobody to look after all of the children! So we need your help to take care of the children." I responded, "Um...what do I have to do, exactly?" The leader responded, "Oh, you just have to feed them, change their diapers, read them a bedtime story, and tuck them in!" I gulped, and the leader responded, "But, I suppose they can just go hungry, without anyone to look after them..." I sniffled, and I then said, "I guess I could look after them for one night..." I was then shoved into the nursery, and I saw a GIANT NUMBER of babies causing mayhem throughout the nursery, and they all stopped and looked at me, and they all then tackled me, hugging me, and pinning me to the floor, and I started hyperventillating!

After I had changed the 50th diaper, I had put them to bed, and I then read them the story of "The Princess and the Pear", and I then fell asleep on a rocking chair. When I woke up, I saw that it was morning, and I saw Sonic quietly tiptoeing through the nursery as to not wake the babies, and he then whispered, "Come on, let's get out of here!" I responded, "But what about the babies? It may be unbearable, but they need someone to take care of them!" Sonic responded, "They'll be fine! Let's go!" I gulped, and I then gave him my hand, but I then became dizzy from the exaustion I had endured, and I then passed out!

I then woke up and I saw Sonic was carrying me in his arms, and I quickly got up, and I then walked alongside them. Tails then said, "I thought we'd never get out of there!" Sonic, Tails and I then put our hoverboards against each side of the door, and Sonic then said, "Well, at least we're finally back hoooome..." Sonic, Tails and I then saw that the Gogobas were in Sonic's shack, and the leader of the Gogobas then said, "Welcome home!" The Gogobas were using Sonic's things, and one of them was wearing my BROTHER'S BANDANNA, and they looked up at us, and Sonic then dropped his burger! I grinded my teeth in rage, and the leader of the Gogobas then said, "We had to let ourselves in, since you don't have a door." A Gogoba then said, "Or any cold beverages or snacks." The leader of the Gogobas then said, "But don't worry, we made do." Sonic and I then stomped furiously towards the leader of the Gogobas, and Sonic then said, "What?! Are you?! Doing here?!" I then said, "And why is one of the Gogobas wearing MY BROTHER'S BANDANNA?! Do you have any idea how much it means to me?!!" The leader of the Gogobas responded, turning to Sonic, "We'd figured that if we were here, you could keep protecting us and in exchange, we could water those house plants of yours. Where are those by the way?" I then stomped to the Gogoba wearing my brother's bandanna, and I then took it from him and I put it back in the frame, and I then hung it up, and I walked back to Sonic, and the leader of the Gogobas then said, "And that's not all we've done for you." A Gogoba then said, "We opened all your mail." Another Gogoba then said, "And we uncanned all your food." A third Gogoba then said, "And we read the girl's journal!" The Gogoba held up my JOURNAL, and he started reading it out loud, and he then said, "Today, I met a blue hedgehog who made me feel-" I snatched my journal away from the Gogoba, my face red, and the leader of the Gogobas then said, "Next, we'll check all your messages." The leader then picked up Sonic's communication device and pressed a button, and Sonic then said, snatching his communication device away from the leader, "Gimme that!" I then inhaled, and I saw a baby near me, and I then screamed and ran to a corner as the babies then crawled to me, and I then screamed, and Tails then flew over to me and he grabbed my hand and flew me away from the babies, and he then calmed me down, and I exhaled. I then heard a whistle from outside, and Sonic and I then ran to the door, and we both saw Dr. Eggman and his Badniks in front of the shack, and Dr. Eggman then said,  "Well, well, look who it is? Mr. and Mrs. I-don't-have-time-to-show-up-to-Doctor-Eggman's-ambush!" Sonic responded, "Ugh, this is a really bad time, Egghead." Dr. Eggman responded, "No problem, I'll come back later when you two are ready." Dr. Eggman then walked away, but he then came back quickly and said, "Just kidding! Robots, attack!" The robots then charged towards us, and we attacked them, me using my wire grappling hook to destroy some, and also using my battle-axe to slice several up, but I then saw the leader of the Gogobas then walk into the battlefield, and he then said, "Oh, pardon me. I didn't mean to get in the way of your great evil rampage." I saw a Bee Bot try to attack him, but I then sliced the Bee Bot and carried him to safety, but he then walked into the battlefield AGAIN, and we had to continuiously destroy Eggman's robots while saving him! Sonic then said, "This isn't working! We can't keep fighting around these Gogobas!" Tails responded, "Maybe we should fight over  them!" Tails then ran to the door of Sonic's shack, and he picked up a hoverboard and my hoverboard, and he threw the hoverboards to us, and we caught them! Sonic then said, "That's what I'm talking about!" I then charged towards a swarm of Bee Bots, slicing each of them up as I sped through them, and Tails then got on his hoverboard and flew into the sky with it! Six Bee Bots then chased him, three in front and three behind! I flew to try to help him, but Tails suddenly did a backward flip, catching the Bee Bots off guard and made them crash into each other! Sonic then got on his hoverboard and charged toward some Badniks, but the robots lifted off before they could do anything else, but Sonic bashed into them, destroying them! Sonic then said as he fought the Badniks, "Take that!" Sonic, Tails and I then came together, holding each other's hand, and Sonic and I blushed, and we then moved quickly in a circle on our hoverboards! Badniks then tried to approach us, but they got destroyed, and Sonic smiled at me, and I blushed, and he blushed as well. After we destroyed the last of the Badniks, Eggman then said, "Ugh! You've got to be kidding me!" The leader of the Gogobas then said, "I suppose it was our own fault, for getting in the way." Dr. Eggman responded, "Yeah, you know what, it was your fault! I usually win at these things." Sonic then said, "Hey, are you trying to steal our new teammates?" Dr. Eggman responded, "New teammates?" Tails responded, "Yeah, we couldn't have won this battle without the Gogobas." I responded, "They helped us so much, and provided us with much strength and support!" Sonic responded, "And if they joined up with you, it'll be like you won this battle, you'd be unstoppable!" Dr. Eggman responded, "Yeah, I would've, wouldn't I?" The leader of the Gogobas then said, "We wish to stay with our protectors, Sonic and Thiri." Sonic responded, "Fine, let poor Eggman suffer the humiliation of defeat after defeat, even though you can help him." I then said, "He'll just be sad and alone, by himself, with nobody to help him, but you guys could help him and give him support." The leader of the Gogobas responded, "Well..." Dr. Eggman responded, "Come on, crowny, what's an evil genius gotta do to get you to switch sides?" The leader of the Gogobas responded, "We pretty much bend our knee to the nearest tyrant who wants to enslave us." Sonic, Tails and I then smirked at each other, and Dr. Eggman then said, "Done and done! Follow me. So long, losers! Um, march in unison please, I like organized followers..." Sonic and Tails then fist-bumped, and Sonic and I high-fived, and I then said, "Well, after this whole ordeal, I think that I don't want to be around babies anymore! And Sonic, about what that Gogoba read from my journal..." Sonic responded, "Don't worry about it, Thiri!" We both smiled, and we walked towards Sonic's shack, us holding hands.
