Author's note: Hey, guys! Sorry that I haven't updated in a while. I've been really busy with other things. And I'm also sorry that this chapter won't be like the others. I haven't worked on this in a long time, so I'm not as good as before. (Also, the reason Thiri is no longer wearing padded armor is because it fused with her anatomy over time, so she has a somewhat normal physiology, yet still she can use her wire grappling hook naturally. And the monitor accessory on her face was destroyed when she fell unconscious in Chapter 7.)  Other than that, I hope you guys enjoy!

(Thiri's POV)

My friends and I were at the beach, Tails watching a meteor shower while I did pushups on the sand.

"881, 882..."

Sonic noticed my relentless exercise, and said, "Why don't you take a break, Thiri? You've been exercising non-stop ever since we got here!"

"Deepest apologies, brave warrior. But I must ready myself for impending attack at the hands of a most fearsome opponent."

Knuckles commented, his mouth still full of marshmallows, "What did she say?"

Amy turned to Tails, who was leaning against a rock looking at the sky.

"Tails, what are you doing?"

"Just enjoying this beautiful meteor shower."

Sure enough, a meteor shower was occurring, multicolored shooting stars raining from the heavens.

"That one's flying beautifully toward us!"

A purple meteor shot over our heads, crashing into the forest behind.

Tails announced, "This could be a major find! We need to approach it cautiously and with great care so that-"

Sonic interrupted before he could finish.

"Race ya!"

Then he sped off towards the meteor crash site.

As annoying as he may be, I still was in his debt.

So I used my grappling hook arm to propel myself into the forest, jumping from branch to branch to reach Sonic.

I just hope I'm not too late.

Once I had pulled Sonic out of the crater, I dragged him by the armpits to my tree house deep in the woods, where I gently laid him on a nest I made of moss and leaves, wrapping palm leaf bandages on his wounds.

Soon enough, he awoke.

"What the?! Where am I?"

This reaction was to be expected.

After all, I had never shown him my woodland hideaway.

Kneeling down, I took his hand, gently stroking it in slow circles.

"Calm yourself, great warrior. After I found you, I took you to my inner sanctum deep in the woods where I bandaged your injuries."

He stood up, a confused look on his face.

"Why'd you do that for me? I'm your mortal enemy!"

Ok, this was getting weird.

"Sonic, are you okay? Maybe you hit your head a bit too hard."

"Sonic? I'm..."

He ran to the mirror I had strung up on the wall, examining himself bit by bit.

"...Sonic. Sorry, my dear..."
