Evening, 6 o'clock, welcoming the end of my work life.
I walked towards the underground parking area as my beloved car was waiting for me there.
As I was just a few steps away from the car, an unavoidable feeling of uneasiness gnawed at me today.
It was as if I were being watched. I wasn't the only one in the parking lot, but other souls were also presented, hiding in shadows.Strange, hah?
I knew my colleagues' cars regularly drove by this same area, ending their day and going home after a long day. But this time, it felt different—a feeling of discomfort I had never experienced before.
Was it connected to something from yesterday's event?
The accident and the experience of that supposedly arrogant man ran through my mind. He was constantly present and refused to let me go. I couldn't help but hold him responsible, blaming him for the emotional chaos that had taken hold of me since our last meeting. He produced a terrifying intensity from his gaze, cutting me and haunting me, occupying my very being, and distracting me even during my work hours.
With these thoughts moving through my mind, I finally reached my car.
I opened the door and slid in immediately, wanting and seeking calmness in silence.
Once I turned the key without wasting a single second, I drove through the parking lot.
My grip on the steering wheel got tighter, as if I could physically escape the intangible sinking feeling that had overtaken me.
I took a deep breath once I got on the main road, whiffling off any remaining unease.
I took a deep breath once I got on the main road, whiffling off any remaining unease.
"What a peculiar day... It's as if the echoes of yesterday still linger in the air." The words left my lips as a mere whisper, but they gave me some good feeling.

"What a peculiar day... It's as if the echoes of yesterday still linger in the air." The words left my lips as a mere whisper, but they gave me some good feeling.
I was so keen on putting the strange events behind me that I kept my eyes on the road as it was guiding my car. "Alright," I say with a firm voice. With each passing mile, I vowed to leave the still shadows of the parking area and that man behind. I believed in a new, promising day.
A few metres into my drive, I stopped at the red light.
This brought the busy vehicle flow to a standstill. The road was congested with impatient drivers, their faces reflecting tiredness. During the chaos, I couldn't help but toy with the thoughts that were flowing through their minds within their cars. Perhaps, like me, they looked for peace within these four walls. Traffic noise was like a shield, protecting them from raw emotions.
The honking horns rang in the air like a song of pent-up frustrations and unstated desires. Each explosion was a manifestation of their underlined bangarang.
It was as if the drivers had discovered music therapy; their anger and other human emotions were expressed through the loud honking sound. In this intense traffic, I noted the unique ways humans cope with their daily struggles, finding calmness in the metal shell of their vehicles.
Sometimes, in these moments, I couldn't help but chuckle at my own creative imagination. The irony struck me as comic—here I was lost in a vision of philosophical ideas, while a single green light forced me to empty the road, making room for the next line of sad and thoughtful souls to claim their space.
As time went by, my desire to reach my home intensified.
As my car drifted through the busy streets, I couldn't help but admire the lively surroundings, which were lit by streetlights.
Looking outside the car window, I caught glimpses of passersby as their lives connected with mine for a mere second. Each face held a story—a unique story line.
I continued my travel, guided by the noise of the traffic as it urges me to return home.
