Following her lead, Mr. Oberoi stepped forward, extending a welcoming hand in greeting.

His voice, clear and warm, reached my ears. "We are honored to have you as our guest," he continued. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you."

The rest of the family, standing in a semi-circle, eagerly awaited their turn to express their appreciation.

Each member approached me, their eyes brimming.

Their attire, while simple yet timeless sophistication, as if they were prepared for the occasion.

Suddenly, a pang of regret washed over me.

In the presence of their sleek elegance, I became acutely aware of my own attire, which now seemed out of place for the beauty surrounding me.

Doubts and self-consciousness crept in, urging me to flee from the spotlight that had unexpectedly fallen upon me.

However, among the sea of wonderfully dressed individuals, my attention was captured by two young souls, the children of Mr. Siddharth and Mrs. Shakhi Oberoi.

Their innocence and authenticity showed through their matching outfits, mirroring my own unconventional style.

In that moment, a deep connection formed, and I found myself drawn to their pure spirits. It was as if they had already claimed a special place in my heart.

In an unexpected twist, I found peace in the irony of the situation.

The amusing thought of finding humor even in such a significant moment provided a much-needed release from the burden of my earlier anxieties.

It became clear to me that the underlying reason for my respite and comfort lay not in my attire but in the absence of a certain person who had been noticeably absent from the dinner gathering.

This realization brought a warm feeling of relief, allowing me to breathe freely in this moment.

Little did I know that wasn't going to be the case for the next moment.

As the conversation continued effortlessly, Mrs. Oberoi asked

"So, my dear, tell me, what do you do for a living?"

I took a moment to compose myself, realizing that this was my chance to speak.

With a calm smile, I replied, "I work in a government bank, handling finances."

Mrs. Oberoi leaned forward, her curiosity piqued. "That sounds fascinating. Working in the government sector can be quite complicate. How do you handle the pressures of the job?"

I chuckled softly and replied, "Well, it's definitely demanding at times, but helping others achieve their financial goals Knowing that I can make a positive difference in someone's life, even in the smallest way, keeps me motivated and focused."
