My footsteps led me towards the living room, where I discovered him casually resting on the sofa. As our eyes locked,

~Something's Wrong.

"Come here; I want to tell you of something," he gestured, his voice urgent. Drawn to his side, I approached, yet a subconscious desire for distance kept me from fully closing the gap.

Questions swirled within my mind, questioning the authenticity of our relationship. How was it possible that we were bound together, and yet I couldn't shake the doubt that this reality was too good to be true? Meanwhile, he wore that familiar, irritating expression.

He still wore that annoying face, the one he made whenever I did something he disapproved of. Yet, in that moment, he remained silent.

"Here, this is an invitation to a party, the project I was talking about. Well, you don't need an invitation, but it's important for me to show you first."

My curiosity raised: "That's great, but which project?" with eagerness as I shifted closer.

For a moment, he fell silent, his gaze fixed downward, as if gathering his thoughts. Sensing his hesitation, I reached out, gently tilting his chin to meet my gaze. "Akshay, look at me."

His eyes met mine. Slowly, I moved to his side, settling myself closer to him.

"Tell me something about your project," I urged my interest to know.

"It's the Harmony Foundation," he replied, a genuine smile gracing his lips, mirroring the joy that spread across my face.

"Ahh, can I ask you something?" I hesitated with curiosity.

"Of course," he responded warmly.

"Why did you and Lavanya break up? I mean, I understand why, but why did you introduce her to that dinner night?"

His features tightened, revealing discomfort. It was a topic he seemed reluctant to discuss.

"Well, you see, her father and mine have a long-standing friendship. Her father's business was struggling, and she approached me after your accident, revealing that she wanted to date me for publicity. She needed the public eye, the media surrounding us—it helped her."

The revelation sent shockwaves through me, with the pieces of the puzzle falling into place.

"And she broke up with Sameer?" I gasped, struggling to understand our interconnected lives.

"Yes, she did,"

There was silence between us.

As I sat there, I couldn't help but marvel at the unpredictability of life's twists and turns.
