I felt it—a gaze, intense and piercing, fixed upon me. I followed the invisible thread of connection, and there he was, Akshay, his eyes locking mine. The intensity of that gaze stirred something within me, igniting a spark.

It was as if time had suspended, granting us a brief respite from the world around us and leaving only the unspoken language between our souls.

It was not for me to indulge in complicated fantasies or go through the area of the inappropriate. I swiftly diverted my gaze, focusing on the joyous occasion unfolding before me and putting an end to the flicker of desire that threatened to consume my thoughts.

I excused myself, my gaze searching for Mia, hoping she could guide me to the nearest washroom. And there she was, engrossed in conversation on her phone.

I approached Mia with a gentle tap on her shoulder, waiting for her attention to shift from the call.

Mia casually responded to my request while deeply engrossed in a call.

With each step, anticipation coursed through my veins, and as I reached, I took leave.

I cautiously stepped into the room. An interior appeared that stood in stark contrast to Mia's colorful taste. The space was monochromatic—white, grey, and black.

Déjà vu tugged.

Determined to dismiss the familiarity, I focused my attention on the task at hand and went towards the restroom.

Inside the washroom, a sudden loosening sensation felt around my bandaged back of the shoulder, jolting me from my thoughts.

Realization washed over me, scolding me for improperly dressing.

I turned toward the mirror.

As I inspected the healing bruises beneath, I tried in vain to readjust the bandages, only to be failed by the limitations.
