Andrew
I hate Thursdays. And the most I hate is babysitting my neighbor's kids while she goes out with her friends, including my mom. I thought I will take some break from school today but I guess it isn't written in my fate, hearing the kids scream made me regret not going school."HEY! don't..touch..that" I quickly get up from the couch as I see Mrs. Marley's lil boys trying to mess with my ps5 that I just recently bought, I should've kept everything inside my room before these devils came. Those two lil bastards give me a cunning smile and start running with my ps5 in their arms "Hey! STOP ughhhh I hate kids", frustrated I run after the crazy twins. Hearing them laugh while chasing them made me angrier, they run and run until Mason comes in from the sliding glass door in front of them, making them stop "Sup kids"
"Did you quit basketball to be a babysitter?" Mason says with his usual cheeky smile
Annoyed, I sigh "Can you stop talking about basketball everytime"
"Give me that" I snatch my ps5 back from the twins and go upstairs to keep it in my room, "You know there's still time if you wanna come back" I hear Mason saying from downstairs, I open the drawer and take my cigarettes and lighter out.
"What did you come here for Mason " I say walking down the stairs.
Mason looks towards me with a nervous smile like he is afraid of my answer "Umm so we were having a meeting at school today...."
"For?"
"Umm for the upcoming basketball match and I thought to tell you about it but you didn't come school today so that's why I'm here now" he says in almost one breath, still smiling that nervous smile.
"No Mason sorry" I say looking down the floor, shaking my head slowly "I told you I am not doing this stuff anymore" I look at him again.
"But Drew you are one of the best player dude"
I let out a soft laugh, "Y'all don't need me"
"You're wrong about that" Mason says giving a cheeky smile again, shooting a finger gun at me.
"Yeah whatever my head's messed up right now, I'm gonna go get some fresh air...can you look after the kids till I'm out I will be back soon" I say quickly putting the cigarettes and lighter in my hoodie pocket that I had in my fist earlier, making sure Mason doesn't notice.
cuz if he sees a pack of cigarettes with me he's gonna start giving lectures about how athletics shouldn't smoke and shit
"Yeah sure I love kids" he says playing with the twins hair.
I slightly laugh, "I'm sure that's gonna change today"
"We are gonna talk about the match again when you come back! Don't think I will leave you like this" Mason shouts from behind as I open the door, I sigh and go out without saying anything.

A few steps away from the lake of our town there's a small abandoned pool, which no one uses of course, some people spread rumours that the place is haunted and go there during Halloween for some spook. The place is really calming, it's quite and peaceful. It's very grassy but it's only on the way here, after you reach the place it's not that grassy anymore. There are small stairs with only five steps when you enter the place, I always sit there and look at the empty dry pool and also smoke a bit, to fresh up my mind....I guess.
