Summary:
A mystery must always be solved..

The person- no people standing at the door are none other than Yoko, Bianca, Xavier, Eugene and Ajax. All of which stare at the two girls. None of them have ever seen Wednesday so much as let someone touch her, let alone get so close as to braiding her hair. From where they're standing it could also look like Enid is giving Wednesday a very intimate hug from behind.

Wednesday stiffens, moving off the bed as Enid does the same. Wednesday snaps, "What do you want?"

The others, dumbfounded until then, snap out of it. Sort of.

"Sorry to ruin your...moment, but there's an emergency," Bianca eyes the pair of them, a sly look on her face. Wednesday represses the urge to slap her.

"An emergency? Are you all okay?" Enid, seeming less embarrassed to being caught with Wednesday and leaps into action.

"It's huge," Eugene agrees, adjusting his glasses, "Someone's stolen the Christmas tree from our common room!"

Enid gasps as if it's a tragedy but Wednesday feels closer to laughter. A stolen Christmas tree an emergency? They had to interupt her time with Enid for a stupid fucking Christmas tree? Wednesday feels her jaw clench. The others don't notice, they're all talking over each other, trying to relay what happened to Enid.

"Someone from another common room likely stole it as a joke," Wednesday tells them, all the attention back on her, "This isn't an emergency."

"We can't just check with them though, can we? If they're really spiteful enough to take it they won't give it back ," Yoko points out. She does have a point yet Wednesday still thinks it's stupid fretting over a tree .

"How did you even know it was stolen? It's two in the morning, why would you be up?" Enid questions, shuffling on the spot a little. Wednesday guesses she actually does feel slightly uncomfortable with being caught. She lets it show only slightly, her facade less defined than Wednesday's.

"Could ask you the same question," Xavier scoffs. Bianca elbows him sharply.

"What does that mean?" Ajax eyes the pair of them with suspicion. He demands, "There was a code behind that, I know it!"

"No there wasn't," Xavier insists, waving his hands in dismissal, "To answer your question, me and Ajax were going back for the marshmallows."

"And me and Yoko were studying for History of the Moons when the boys came to find us," Bianca adds her side of the story.

Eugene pipes up also, "I heard them passing my door and joined in."

"Its just a stupid tree, there's plenty more," Wednesday decides firmly. She couldn't care less about a tree, to be frank. All she wants is for things to go back to how they were a few minutes ago. Her skin tingling with pleasure, Enid's closeness and an appealing, comfortable quiet between them, "So if you don't mind, you should all leave."

"You'd like that wouldn't you," Xavier smirks, stifling a laugh as he receives another elbow from Bianca.

"It's not just a stupid tree, this one was special," Eugene insists, putting his hands together desperately, "Wednesday, please help us. You're good at solving mysteries so this should be easy!"

She's not a softy for Eugene or Enid or any of her other... friends . Truly she's not. If anyone asks, the real reason she decides to help them is only, only because she loves solving every mystery. No matter how pointless.
