Summary:
Enid spends the summer with Wednesday and they realize their feelings for eachother

It was the perfect kind of night as Wednesday sat outside on her favorite bench in her family's garden. But even if the night was perfect she couldn't find it in herself to enjoy the stunning moon as she usually was able to. She normally loved to sit out in the garden and stare up at the moon in all of her imperfect beauty. Her glowing skin covered in craters would usually enthrall Wednesday but not on this perfect night. Tonight as she stared up at the moon all she could feel was a hollow sense of yearning in place of the calmness the moon usually brought to her, and it was driving her mad.

It had been only a week since she had returned home from Nevermore for the summer and all she could think about was returning as soon as possible. She didn't know why she could possibly feel this way, especially after how she had protested even going to the school in the first place. Even so she felt something calling her back to the school. She could never place her finger on what it could be that called her back as hard as she tried. At first she thought that it could be because she missed all the excitement from almost being murdered and solving the case of Tyler being the hyde but that wasn't quite it. She quickly tried to push down all of the feelings rushing over her but to no avail. The girl let out a heavy sigh and turned to her best friend and said "Thing, I think it's time we head inside this is only making me feel worse". The hand tapped its fingers on the bench a few times in acknowledgement before jumping down to the moist dirt and scurrying off back towards the house. Wednesday slowly arose from her position on the bench and after one more glance up at the moon she normally loves so much turned and walked back into the house to go to sleep.

When Wednesday awoke from her deathly slumber she felt no better than she had the night before. She laid motionless looking almost deceased in her soft bed for a moment longer trying to collect herself. As she lay there she kept seeing flashes of dreams she had the night before. She heard the horrifically sweet voice of Enid, her werewolf roommate that she had grown to tolerate by the end of the semester, and began to smell the sweet scent of roses that always seemed to follow the bubbly girl everywhere she went. As she sat thinking about the girl she felt a slight tinge of warmth and color creep into her normally deathly pale cheeks. She tried to push it down and hold her normal cold composure but was ultimately thwarted as she remembered the kiss she and the werewolf girl had shared in her dreams. She rolled over onto her stomach and groaned softly into her pillow, why did this girl have to have such an effect on her she thought, it was positively dreadful, and not in the way that she usually loved so much.

She slowly stood up from her bed to begin her day and shot a glare over at Thing who was tapping its fingers rapidly teasing Wednesday knowing exactly what and more specifically who she was thinking about. Wednesday quickly got dressed into her usual black and white and stepped outside onto the balcony outside her room. She stood outside in the light of the morning feeling sickened by the brightness of it. After a few moments she reached back inside through her door and grabbed the snood Enid had given to her on her birthday. The one thing that Wednesday loved about being home was that even though it was the summer there was always a chill in the air similar to the crispness of autumn Wednesday's favorite season. As she wrapped the snood around her neck she felt her mind begin to wander to her time at Nevermore last semester. She remembered her first time seeing the school and thinking about how enchantingly beautiful it was as much as it pained her to admit, she remembered how exhilarating it had felt when Rowan used his powers to try and kill her, then remembered even more vividly her first encounter with the hyde, and more annoyingly her loud annoying cheerful roommate which she, much to her dismay, could not seem to get out of her mind.
