Cold air between us

Jungkook's pov

I was driving the way to the restaurant which yugeom had told me to. My mood was already down and it's just the start of the day. The events that took place in the past few days had affected me greatly. Unknowingly my feelings for jimin we're changing. It's like he had been occupying all my thoughts from morning to night.

The frequent eye contacts with a hint of longing in his eyes, had left me wondering Everytime. I was falling, that I was aware of. I was aware of the mess in front of me. But I had always felt something for him, hadn't I? A small chuckle left my mouth, laced with ridicule for myself. I was a coward.. I let go of him.

This time I'm afraid I'll end up doing the same. I would be lying to two people if I didn't admit that I was in love with jimin. One, me myself and second, yugeom. I couldn't break his heart. Besides, jimin was already in a relationship.

I sighed , getting of the car. I walked over to the restaurant and to the table on the left corner beside the glass windows. He saw me walking towards him and waved a 'Hi' with a smile. I waved back and sat in front of him.

" Hey love " yugeom smiled and handed me the menu.

"Hey, so how's your day so far?" I took the menu and scanned my eyes over it.

"I missed you alot gguk"

"Me too" I said instantly, still keeping my eyes on the menu and checking my phone from time to time.

"Gguk"

"Hmm"

"Jungkook" yugeom said my name in a higher tone of voice , a Stern look on his face, he was sulking at me.

"What?" I raised my eyebrows at him not catching his hints.

" Have you noticed that you've been avoiding me lately? Ever since jimin came to your life you've been avoiding my calls and spending time with me. Even now, you're thinking of him aren't you ?"

" I've always given my priority to you babe . You know he was my best friend. We made a mistake yugeom. We hurted him. Didn't you admit it yourself long ago. I need to give him time too." I said keeping my voice as low as possible.

He frowned at me and went back to scrolling his phone. I sighed and accepted defeat. I went to his side and comforted him , hugging him until he stopped sulking.

" Enough of you bugging me, just choose something to eat."

"Let's eat jjajangmyeon" I said taking my hands off him and placing them in the table.

I looked over to the front door and saw jimin and that guy entering the restaurant. I face-palmed internally. You can't be more serious , goddamn. I locked eyes with jimin and his eyes formed a cresant shape smile. He signaled the other guy and now they were approaching our table.

"Hey gguk" jimin placed his hand on my shoulder , "do you mind if me and my friend joins you both?"

Yugeom was about to say something and I immediately spoke "No of course not jimin-ah " I reassured him, " He is- " I said pointing at the guy now sitting beside him.

"He's Taehyung, my ex"

A small 'oh' left my mouth, feeling relaxed. "Nice to meet you Taehyung."

"You too, jungkook" he answered unamused.

"What are you eating?" Jimin spoke easing out the air between us.

"We ordered jjajangmyeon" I said.

"That's good, we'll have it too then"

Our orders arrived and everyone starting filling their mouths.

"Mm , it's so good" jimin had a big smile on his face , enjoying the food.

"By the way , Who is he?" Taehyung pointed at silent yugeom beside me, he was clearly not enjoying this, I'm gonna have to deal with his sulking after reaching home.

"I'm yugeom, jungkook's boyfriend" yugeom introduced himself.

"Ohh So, it's a double date" Taehyung chuckled , as if impressed.

"I don't think so, you're his ex and you no longer date him." I snapped at him.

He rolled his eyes on me.

"I'm gonna go to the restroom. You guys chat a bit." I got up from the seat and left the heavy atmosphere.

I stared at the mirror of the restroom, feeling so empty , a mixture of emotions erupting inside me. Jimin entered the restroom , looking impatient. He closed the door behind us and shushed me by putting his hand on my mouth.

"What?" I asked, Removing his hands from my mouth.

"Nothing just making sure you don't scream, I'm just here to talk to you, dumbass."

" What is it?"

"He, Taehyung, is my ex."

"Well I know that" I sighed and looked sideways at the pink and white tiles of the bathroom.

"We dated for a year before he disappeared without trace." Jimin looked straight at me , expecting some words from me.

"That's not nice."

"Exactly. But you both don't seem to get along well so I just cleared some things up."

" Ohh, so you must've told him my story too. How I fucked up the friendship with my childhood best friend and hurted him. You must've told him how bad of a guy I'm, didn't you?"

" Of Course not. I just told you things about him coz I still consider you my best friend but you always have to misunderstand my word." Jimin's eyes were now red, almost at the verge of crying but not a single tear slipped from his eyes. I realized that I lashed out on the wrong person.

"Jimin wait" I ran after him, as he exited the restroom in anger. Feeling very nervous I caught his hand. Jimin took his hand out from my grip, not looking back.

" Ohh, you're a model too"
I heard yugeom and Taehyung laughing and getting along well. I sighed relieved, at least he's enjoying himself or else I'd have been doomed. Me and jimin walked up to our table and sat on our seats. Jimin was not in a good mood by then.

"Both of you finish your meals quick, we're going to the amusement park near by ", Taegyung informed the both of us.

"I think we'll join you next time, yugeom wants to go home." I put down the offer as I was too exhausted.

"I want to go jungkook, stop giving excuses using me." Yugeom pouted and hit me on the shoulder.

"How about jimin?" I eyed the blonde boy sitting in front of me, slowly finishing his leftover meal.

"I'm in" he answered barely looking up at me. I felt disappointed, I wanted to talk to him alone. I wanted him all to myself and this was clearly not going well.
