Sam and Mon were over the moon after seeing the results. Sam couldn't contain her happiness, she was hugging and kissing Mon more than ever. She was emotionally and overly happy!
She had dreamt of having a baby with Mon probably since their first week together and it was finally happening.
That night they went to sleep closer to each other than before. It was something about this new bundle of joy that made Sam love her wife even more! They couldn't wait to tell everyone the news but both agreed it was best to wait a few more days before sharing this amazing news with their loved ones. Sam also booked an appointment to check if everything was okay with the baby the next day. She couldn't wait got see their baby and hear her/his heartbeat!
But this baby of theirs was giving Mon a really hard time. Unfortunately, Mon got all the bad symptoms that came with pregnancy. She was feeling sick and weaker than ever! She woke up the next morning in the bathroom throwing up everything she was holding inside. Sam was next to her trying to support but there wasn't much she could do. After Mon was done she was hugged by her wife which made her cry!
Sam; I'm sorry baby - she caressed her back while hearing Mon crying out loud - I am sorry! - she kissed Mon's forehead while trying to calm her down - How about we take a cold shower and I will order us some breakfast- before Sam could finish the word breakfast Mon turned again to the toiled to continue throwing up. Sam held her hair back while she continue to throw up! After maybe thirty seconds Mon was done. Sam helped her get up and showered her!
Mon was feeling weak after all the throw-up! Sam decided to stay home with her and called the doctor to come in instead and perform some exams while also checking on the baby!
Their Doctor arrived a few hours later together with a nurse. They did some regular exams!
Doctor: Nauseous is a very common pregnancy symptom, it's also known as morning sickness but can affect you during any time of your day. Usually, it may only last the first trimester- Most women go through this but some lucky ones might not - Sam was listening carefully- it's also normal for her to feel sleepy and tired. Everything is indicating that Mon will have a very difficult first trimester with these symptoms. It might affect her a lot! You as her partner need to be supportive and patient with her as it's not good for her or the baby to face any stress. Babies can feel everything mommy is feeling, so please be mindful of that. Maybe after the morning sickness is over Mon's appetite might increase, you have to remember you are now eating for two! Mood swings are also really common as pregnancy cravings - While the doctor was speaking Sam was taking notes. I mean taking notes! Writing everything down on the laptop. Mon rolled her eyes and sighed after looking at her wife. She knew Sam was going to be extra with this pregnancy!
Sam; Thank you for all this information Doctor, it's going to be super helpful! - she smiled - Can we see the baby now? - her eyes sparkle
Doctor; Yes! Mon, I will need you to lift your shirt - Mon did as she asked - I will apply this gel and it will be cold at first. I want you two to look at that monitor. I will tell you what I see. - she started to move the transducer around Mon's belly and the image of her uterus popped up on the screen - Do you see the little tiny dot over there? - Mon and Sam looked hard
Mon; that tiny little dot? - she was confused
Doctor; Yes, that's your baby - she smiled - it has the size of an orange seed. See?
Sam: Oh my. It's so tiny - she smiled while holding Mon's hand.
Doctor; Yes. Mon you are five weeks pregnant, your baby and you look healthy. We won't be able to hear the baby's heart just yet. It's too soon! We can reschedule something after week 7 for better chances of hearing it! How's that?
Sam; sounds good, I will tell my assistant to reschedule something soon!
Doctor; Good! Meanwhile, I recommend Mon to rest and try to eat. I will prescribe some great pregnancy vitamins that she can take and help with the morning sickness. - she cleaned Mon's belly while putting away the machine - Again, no stressing and harsh activity during this period. The first trimester is where most miscarriage occurs. Please be careful and call me if you have any questions. - both nod their head worried -
Sam; we will take good care of both of them - she smiled while kissing Mon's hand.
Sam decided to stay home with Mon since she looked pale. Mon couldn't eat anything, Sam prepare lots of delicious food but everything made Mon make a weird expression of "I'm going to throw up now" - the only thing they found was that the baby liked watermelon. Sam ordered the helper to find all the watermelons she could at the markets for Mon and the baby. She also made a huge list of new foods that Mon could try!
The whole day consisted of Mon resting while Sam made her company. Sam was giving her all the support and love she needed, and that was the highlight of Mon's day!
Mon slept almost the whole afternoon and woke up around 8 pm! She looked much better and was less tired! That made Sam happy, though she loved their baby she also hated that it was making Mon this sick. She hates seeing Mon suffer!
Sam; Are you feeling better now - she asked while laying next to Mon. They are looking at each other. -
Mon: a little - she smiled - our baby is mean - her comment made Sam laugh-
Sam; I think the baby is just happy to be in your belly, babe - she caressed Mon's cheeks.
Mon; She makes my stomach feel like a jelly bean - Sam smiled -
Sam; she? How do you know it's a she?
Mon; I don't know. I think it's a she! What do you want?
Sam; I want whatever comes! But most importantly a happy and healthy baby. -
Mon; me too - they both smiled at each other - Are you happy?
Sam; Is that even a question? I'm over the moon happy. The happiest I've ever been! This is all I ever wanted - she smiled while tearing up - You, me, and our baby! This is all I wanted Mon - Sam's tears came down her face - You make me the happiest girl in the world, and you are carrying our most beautiful treasure. I can never thank you enough. I love you more than I will ever love anyone. And I love our jelly bean too! - Mon started crying out loud after hearing Sam's words and that make Sam worry. - Mon, babe why are you crying did I say something wrong? Please don't stress - Mon couldn't stop crying. Sam grabbed her and they sat on the bed hugging her and trying to comfort her - Mon, talk to me, honey. What happened? - Sam was confused and Mon's cry kept getting louder and louder - Mon breath with me please, try to calm down and tell me what happened.
Mon; I.... Do...don't knowwww - she cried more and Sam just hugged her until she was able to calm down. After two minutes she stopped crying and Sam looked at her wife's red eyes!
Sam: what happened? - she cleaned Mon's tears
Mon; I don't know. Whatever you said made me cry. - mon tried to smile -
Sam; I think this is a part of the pregnancy- Sam smiled. Their Jellybean was giving her wife a hard time! -
Mon; I think so too! - she laid her head on Sam's lap. Sam kissed the top of her wife's head, smiling. - I'm tired again Sam!
Sam: How about we go eat something before you fall asleep again?
Mon; I will just have watermelon, my stomach still feels a little sick. I don't want to throw up again!
Sam; Okay, wait for me here. I will go pick it up for you. Yes?! - Mon nods her head while Sam got up and went down to the kitchen to get her wife watermelon.
It only took Sam about five minutes to prepare everything, but by the time she got to her room, Mon was already sleeping again hugging her pillow. She smiled and put the watermelon on the nightstand next to her wife. Maybe if she woke up in the middle of the night she can eat it! Sam got ready for bed and laid next to Mon moving the pillow and hugging her.
Sam knew this was going to be a long journey but she was ready to give everything because, at the end of the road, a beautiful baby would be coming into their world to bring much more light to their lives!
