Ep 25

Sam and Mon spent the day together cuddling and just enjoying their alone time. Around three in the afternoon, they were at Ariee's school door ready to pick her and Mimi up. Mon had asked Jin to let Milla spend the afternoon with them; they were going to celebrate the first day of school by enjoying some ice cream!

The gates were open and some kids were running towards their parents, nanny, and grandparents. Sam and Mon held hands looking to see Ariee and their niece. Ten minutes later they saw their little girl walking towards them while Mimi was holding her hands. They both looked happy and chatted while they were leaving the gates.
Mon smiled and opened her arms, Ariee ran to her parents when she saw them waiting outside. Mon hugged and carried her filling her face and kisses. Sam smiled while calling Milla for a hug.

Ariee; Mommy stop, I said no kisses  - she complained while trying to get off her mom's kisses.-
Sam; How was school princess- she hugged Reeree when she was back on the ground -
Ariee; I liked it! - smiles
Mon; we're so glad you like it, baby.
Mimi; She was very good, she even made a few friends.
Ariee; Yes, but I already told them that my best friend is you Mimi, only you! - smiles -
Sam; We shall celebrate with ice cream then, what do you think?
Ariee; is Mimi spending the afternoon with us?
Mon; Yes, we are celebrating the first day of school!
Mimi/Ariee; Yay! - they hugged each other -
Sam; okay, let's go to the car!

The two girls ran toward the car while Sam and Mon just watched them, Sam then held her wife's hand and they walked in the same direction.

They spend the afternoon playing with the two girls. At 6 pm they dropped off Mimi at home since she had to be up early for school, and they went back home to get Ariee ready for bed as well.
The little girl was hyper and chatty. It took her a little while to fall asleep and Mon made a note on her head to not do ice cream during the week, the sugar rush took over Ariee!

Mon was nervously walking from one side to another in the empty hospital waiting room. She took a deep breath after a few seconds and sat on the empty chair. She was nervous and anxious!
One of her coworkers and good friend had suffered a car accident and she was the only one who could accompany her to the hospital; Mon was waiting for the doctors to come and give her some news. Good news she was hoping!
The ambulance had rushed Yah but the situation was critical since she was nine months pregnant. Mon was scared for her, she had a similar experience when she was pregnant with Ariee and it was the worst feeling ever.

Doctor; Hi - the doctor came in with a blank face and that made Mon stand up immediately-
Mon; How's she doing?
Doctor; We will have to do an emergency C-Section. Unfortunately, she's been losing a lot of blood and we need to save the baby as soon as possible!
Mon; Oh Gosh! - tears started to fall -
Doctor; Does she have any family? Partner? We need someone to sign some papers since she's not in her best state right now!
Mon; she doesn't have anyone, the kid's father left as soon as he heard about her pregnancy - sobbing -
Doctor; then you can be in the room with her, for support. Is that okay with you?
Mon; Of course, I would love to be there! - cleaned her tears - When is it going to happen?
Doctor; we are getting her ready, the sooner the better. Follow me, please. -

Mon followed the doctor to a room, where they gave her some hospital trousers. She was then guided next to her friend. As soon as Mon held her hands she started to tear up, she was scared and Mon could see it. There were some scratches on her face and her forehead was bleeding s little.

Mon; I'm here, I will be here with you everything will be fine! - she was holding her hands tight.
Yah; Take care of him for me please - sobbing
Mon; I don't need to, because you will be okay! You will take care of your boy just like you planned! - Mon was also sobbing -
Yah; I'm not okay Mon, please just don't let him go to any orphanage.
Mon; Shhhh! Your surgery will start soon, let's focus on your health and the baby now.
Yah; Please Mon, please if anything happens just take care of my baby boy. You've been a great friend and coworker. I've watched you become a great wife and mother I know you and Sam will take good care of him! Please? - sobbing, she started to get agitated and Mon tried to calm her.
Mon; Okay okay Yah, I will! Just stay calm now, please. We will talk when the surgery is over, I promise! You got this! - tries to comfort her
Nurse; Doctor, her heart rate is high right now!
Doctor; Let's begin now  - looking at Mon - I need you to try to calm her down, we need to save the baby!
Mon; Please, save both of them - sobbing, looking at her friend - Please Yah, your baby needs you. Hold on a little longer!

Mon stayed by her side, talking about how amazing motherhood was while the medical team was working fast and trying to save both of them. However, Yah's heart rate kept going higher and beating faster than usual- they were doing everything they could but it was getting harder and harder.
Mon prayed and cried while also trying to keep her calm. This was hard to watch, she was a mother and knew exactly how her friend was feeling.
Yah looked tired, Mon could tell. She was trying her best to stay awake to welcome the baby boy that she waited for so long.
Mon smiled when the baby boy was out, she looked at her friend and smiled. She kept telling her how proud she was and that the baby was okay, but Yah slowly started to close her eyes. She smiled one last time and looked at her baby before fully leaving this earth on what was supposed to be the best day of her life!

The flat line could be seen on the screen, Doctors and nurses rushed to perform CPR and try to revive the mother but nothing was helpful, it was too late! The baby cry filled the room indicating that he was here and healthy.
Mon's whole body went numb while the doctors and nurses moved around. She was still holding her friend's hand but there was no life there. She was gone!... what was she going to do now?

Sam ran to her wife and hugged her tightly when she entered the hospital room. Mon started to cry out loud when she felt her wife's warm hug around her body. She could finally breathe!

Sam; Shhhhh, I'm here! - she caressed her hair while Mon cried - I'm here! Let it out - Mon cried even louder after hearing those words!
Mon; What am I going to do - sobbing - She left...... she didn't hug her baby... she left! - crying
Sam; Look at me - Sam lifts her chin - Life is unpredictable, but she will be watching her baby from wherever she's - Mon nodded while sobbing - You did great, I'm sure she was grateful for your presence in that room. - Mon laid her head on her wife's chest. She stayed in that position for a few minutes until the nurse came in the room holding a baby -
Nurse; Hi - she gave Mon and Sam a sad smile - Do you want to hold the baby?
Mon; Huh?? - Mon was confused -
Nurse: We cleaned him, and we were just wondering if you want to hold him? It seems like you and his mother were close - smiles -
Mon; Yes, we were. - she wiped her tears - I will hold him! - the nurse slowly walked towards Mon and placed the baby in her Arms!
Sam; He's so chubby and cute - Sam smiled wildly and Mon looked at her
Mon; He's cute - and for the first time that day Mon smiled. The baby was precious, and she felt happy while holding him!
Sam; Does he need anything?
Nurse; A happy home right now - Sam looked at the nurse and then her wife, who  was too focused on the baby to listen to what the nurse had said -
Sam; We can arrange that - the nurse smiled widely - I will contact my lawyer now!
Nurse; Great, that's what the mother wanted! I will give you guys some minutes to talk and I will wait outside. - she left with a big smile -
Sam; Mon! - Sam called her wife who was still lost looking at the baby -
Mon; Hum?! - she looked at Sam with teary eyes -
Sam; You don't want to leave him! - Sam knew her wife very well! -
Mon: She told me not to, I can't leave him behind and pretend nothing happened!
Sam; I know, I know - She wiped Mon's tear - I'm here for whatever you decide!
Mon; How about Ariee, how will she feel? I'm scared...
Sam; She will adore him! - Sam smiled as Mon nodded - She will be great to him because she's our daughter! She's amazing, just like you! And we will love this baby like our own, I'm sure we will! - Mon nodded while sobbing!
Mon; I love you so much, babe! - Sam smiled and gave her a brief kiss!
Sam; And I love you even more!

And Just like that the decision was made, and a right decision indeed! Maybe they needed the baby boy as much as he needed them!
