"Ezra, we are not going to Disney World" I protested for the millionth time this week since I agreed to take him on a plane ride. "Daddy promised though" He pouted, causing me to shake my head and go back to making his breakfast.

He was sitting next to me, on the counter, while I was making him some oatmeal. He's been pestering me about this trip all week. I should have never brought it up. It hasn't even been fully planned yet. "Daddy never promised Disney World" I pointed a spoon at him, before beginning to cut up some apples. "I only said I would take you on a plane ride."

"But Ezzy wants Disney World" He crossed his arms over his chest, watching my every movement. "And Ezzy can go to Disney World" I told him. "Just not now"

"Fine" His pout got deeper and he turned his head so he was no longer looking at me. He's been acting so sassy lately. "Ezzy, don't be like that" I sighed, shaking my head at him.

"Daddy mean" I could hear the pout in his voice. A frown appeared on my face at his words, I never wanted him to think of me like that. "Ezra, daddy isn't being mean" I assured him, sitting the knife down on the side of the cutting board that was farthest from him.

"I just don't want you getting your hopes up for something that isn't happening right now" With that being said, he turned so he was facing me again. "So, Ezzy go to Disney world, just not now?" He tilted his head to the side a little bit and I nodded.

"Ezzy is absolutely going to Disney World one day" I smiled gently. Ezra nodded, a grin forming on his face. "Okay, daddy" His mood now brightened by what I had just told him. "Ezzy's food ready?" He asked, pointing towards the bowl of oatmeal. "Yes, Ezzy's food is ready"

I placed the apples neatly in the bowl, adding a little cinnamon on top, before handing the bowl to him.

"Thank you, daddy"

"You're welcome, baby"

"Trey," I hear my name being called.

After making Ezra's breakfast this morning we both decided on a nap since we had both woken up earlier than usual. We both laid on the couch, Ezra mostly on top of me, and passed out. I opened my eyes, seeing Ezra staring up at me from where he was still laying on my chest.

I realized he was the one who had said my name, meaning that he was no longer little. "Yes, Ezzy?" Was my response, sleep still very evident in my voice. I could tell he had been awake for a while from how bright and alert his eyes seemed.

"Hi" He grinned, propping his head up on my chest. I shook my head, letting my eyes fall shut again, as I wasn't at all ready to be awake yet. "Hi, Ezzy" I breathed out. 'Hey, don't go back to sleep" I could hear the pout in his voice, before feeling him poking me in my side gently. "Just 5 more minutes, love" I whispered, wrapping my arms tightly around him.

"Fine" He sighed out. "Me too" He added after a few seconds of silence. I hummed in agreement, allowing sleep to take over again. However, that didn't last long, as I was soon woken up again to Ezra, once again, poking me in my side. "Yes, Ezra?" I didn't even bother opening my eyes this time around, just laid there waiting for his response.

"Yay, you're awake!"

"I wasn't until you started poking me again" I mumbled, shifting my position slightly. "That's kinda the point, Tee-Tee" There was a duh tone in his voice, and I could almost sense the way he rolled his eyes. I opened my eyes, seeing that he was now sitting on my legs, arms crossed over his chest. "Are you sassing me again?" I raised a brow.

"No sir, I am not" He denied, letting his arms drop. "That's what I thought" I poked his side, causing him to giggle quietly. "Where's Amanda?" Ezra shrugged, looking around the room, before setting his eyes back on me. "Can I have ice cream?" He asked, batting his eyelashes, trying to look cuter.

"After what happened last time, no you may not" I shook my head at him. "To be fair," He pointed at me. "I was little, and it was also your fault,"

"You're the one that asked for ice cream!"

"And you could have told me no" He grinned, showing me that he was only teasing me. "Bring little Ezzy back" I groaned teasingly, throwing my head back. When I lived my head back up, Ezra's face had fell ever so slightly. "Y-You don't like me when I'm big?" He asked, hurt lacing his tone.

Shit, I did it again.

"No! Ezzy that's not what I meant!" Before I had the chance to say anything else, Ezra was getting up and running to what I assumed was his room. I felt myself wince slightly when I heard the door slam from upstairs.

I didn't mean for him to take it like that. But, I just shouldn't have said it in the first place. I waited a few seconds before I was up on my feet, racing up to Ezra's room. I went to open the door, only to find that it was locked. I knocked, jigging the handle a bit. "Ezzy, please open the door" I pleaded, hoping to get some kind of a response out of him.

Even just something small.

I carried on trying for a few more minutes before realizing it was almost pointless. He probably hates me now. I turned around, pressing my back to his door, and sat down, bringing my knees up to my chest. I closed my eyes, beginning to sing Safe Inside by James Arthur, since that was the first song I ever sang to him, hoping that it would change something.

By the time I was done with the song, there was still no response from Ezra. I leaned my head back against the door, eventually falling asleep since I was waiting so long.

If I knew anything about myself, it's that I would sit here all day and all night if I had to, just to make sure Ezra was alright, to make sure he would forgive me.
