Chapter 14: New "Friends"

ETHAN POV

The two days passed with no time at all and I was currently on my way with the other guards to Shimmer Port to take down the posters and get Y/n back. All the posters in the other towns were already taken down since the guards headed out yesterday.

I can't wait to feel my love in my arms again!

I was riding with the guard who has a sister whose name I learned is Gabriel and Caleb the other guards were in a different carriage.

"Gabriel, I need you to be at the beach at noon can you do it?" I asked him while turning my attention to him.

"Yes sir!" he said while putting his hand to his head like he always does whenever he talks to me.

"Good!" I nodded while looking back out the window and seeing Shimmer Port coming into view.

Meanwhile with Y/N

Y/N POV

I was with Ashton and the girls at the market since I needed to stock up on food.

"Thank you for coming with me Ashton," I said while getting all my stuff together. "It's hard trying to get what I need while also watching these two."

"It's no problem," he said while waving his hand. "I don't mind helping whenever I can!"

Once I was finished shopping it was 30 minutes until noon.

"Ugh!" I heard someone say as we walked to my house.

I looked over and saw two people struggling to pick up a box.

"Do you two need help?" I asked as I walked over to them with Scarlett in my arms.

"Yes, that would be nice," the girl said while setting it down. "Thank you."

"Ashton, can you please take the girls back home?" I asked while handing him my stuff along with Scarlett.

"Yeah," he said while grabbing all my stuff. "I'll meet you back there when you're done.

"Okay," I said as I grabbed one side of the box so I could help them carry it. "Where are you taking this box?"

"To the beach," the guy said while walking on the opposite side of me. "My name is Gabriel."

"I'm Y/n," I said while struggling with the box a little. "What's in here anyway?"

"Just some stuff that the fisherman needs," he said while looking at me. "So are you married to that guy that you were with or are you dating him?"

"Ashton?" I asked in shock.

"Yes him," he said with a smile. "Are you two a thing?"

"Uhh..." I didn't know how to answer that question since Ashton and I were close but if I said no he might ask me out or maybe I'm reading too much into it.

"Are those your kids?" the girl asked out of the blue.

"Yes they are," I said while looking at her. "But they look more like their dad."

"Really?" she asked while looking at me and squinting to see any similar features between me and my kids.

"Yeah..." I whispered while thinking about Ethan.

"Well, I can see some similarities in your facial structure," she said while shrugging her shoulders. "But that's the only thing that I see."

"Who's the dad?" the boy spoke up while looking at me expectingly.

"GABE!" the girl yelled to the boy.

"No, no it's okay," I said as I hoped that they didn't start fighting in front of me. "The father lives in Mistaca as a personal knight for the royal family."
