Author's sidenote: Just in case you don't notice, both Fitz and Simmons' POV's happen at the same time so it truly is their perspective on what is happening at this point. Enjoy!
Simmons' POV
"I have to go sir, if not for Fitz, for S.H.I.E.L.D." Those words flew out of my mouth, with them making the atmosphere shaky.
I stand up from the chair instantly feeling dizzy from the realization that my life has now significantly changed several times in the last year. This time, it involves me working for the enemy.
"If that's all sir, I'll be in my room packing." I squeak holding back all the emotions that are currently flooding my body.
Walking down the hall I see Fitz sitting in the lab frustrated, he's been trying so hard to do things the old Fitz would have done with ease. I continue walking down the what seems to be never-ending hallway until I sneak inside my room and lock the door. Once inside, I flop down on my bed and just let everything out. All the pain, anger, confusion, worry, pity, everything is coming out in the form of liquid streaming down my face. And for the first time ever, I feel alone. Knowing that I'm the reason my best friend is not healing properly. The fact that even with my vast knowledge I. Can't. Help. Him. I have to leave him and he doesn't know why. The only person I can't imagine being without is the one I have no choice but to leave behind.

Fitz's POVI notice Simmons walking down the hall when she stops to stare at me trying to load an Icer.
She's leaving. But why? Thoughts start rapidly going through my mind. Her parents, maybe there is something wrong with them? Or Hydra is just too much for her right now and she needs a break? Being at the secret base? They all don't make sense except for one.
Me. She's leaving because of me. She probably thinks because I'm damaged I'm useless now. I need her and she's leaving me. The only person I need to help me, doesn't want to. She's leaving and moving on and I guess I will just have to learn to either accept that, or try to do the same.
I get up from my chair and begin walking back to my room.
"I want the Simmons that actually cares about me and won't leave me." I grumble. As I say that, I see a woman who looks exactly like Simmons appear beside me, except she's wearing a different outfit. The outfit she wore the day she was infected with the Chitauri Virus.
"Oh Fitz." She says with the beautiful smile that always caused me to feel butterflies when I saw it.
