Simmons' POV

"Jemma stop worrying, everything will be fine." I said trying to calm myself down. Coulson asked me to come to his office immediately, the first thought that popped into my mind is that Fitz must be awake. He has to be. It's been nine days since Ward dropped Fitz and I out of the Bus in a medical pod to the bottom of the ocean. I still remember what Fitz said to me...he told me that I meant more to him than just a best friend. Then he handed me a one time use of air supply so I could get to the surface of the ocean. And I never got the chance to say anything before he hit that dreadful button that detonated the chemical reaction to break the bulletproof glass of the pod so we could escape. I go to check my appearance in the mirror and see red, puffy eyes. I couldn't stop crying last night, because all I could think about was Fitz. I leave my room and start walking down the hall when I hear boots trying but not suceeding to quietly shuffle down the hall. "Skye?" I say, trying to make my voice sound as normal as possible. Right after I say that Skye pokes her head around the corner and comes into view "Hey Simmons," Skye says with a compassionate tone. "Has Coulson said anything yet?" She didn't have to say who or what she was talking about because I know she is asking about Fitz. "He actually just called me to his office now." I am trying my best not to cry while talking. "I should go, don't want to keep the Director waiting." I try to force a laugh but fail miserably. "Ok, bye Simmons" Skye says as we share a quick hug. I get to the door at Coulson's office and freeze. "Come on, you can do this." I shake my head and knock on the door wondering about what news Coulson will have for me.
