"This is the place, Bean." Macaque said as he walked up to their new home.
It was a light purple and white one-story house with a bay window in the front. The white door stood in front of them, practically begging to be opened. They were surrounded by trees. Macaque only saw one store on the way here, so he could say that it was on the outskirts of the city.
"Wow! It looks so pretty, but um...where's the landlord?" Bei Da asked with a head tilt.
The black-furred monkey blinked a couple of times.
"Yeah...where is the landlord-"
"So you must be Liu'er Mihou, yes?" Questioned a female voice behind them.
The two protagonists let out a shriek and held each other as their landlord had accidentally scared them. The landlord wasn't even human, instead, she was a demon! She was a purple demon with small horns, her black mauve hair was tied up in a tight bun, wore square glasses, a red cheongsam with gold lining and buttons, maroon pants, and black shoes with white lining. Wait a minute...wouldn't that mean that their landlord is the Demon Accountant that Yin and Jin hang around with? Welp, at least they don't know about that.
"My apologies. Did I scare you?" The purple demon asked.
"Kinda. Anyways, are you the landlord?" The black-furred monkey replied as he calmed down.
"Yes, I am. My name is too complicated to pronounce so you may call me Debbie. I suppose you two must be Liu'er Mihou and Bei Da, yes?" She questioned as she checked her clipboard.
"Yep! That's us and you can call me Macaque."
"Mhm. Alright then, Macaque. From what I understand, you are a single father?"
A single WHAT?!
Macaque's eyes widened in surprise.
"Well um...I'm uh.."
"I can tell that you're not her birth father, so then you must be her adoptive father?"
"Er...kind- YES! Yes, I am!" He blurted out nervously.
"Don't worry, I have had similar cases to yours. Anyhow, I'll show you the inside of your new home." Debbie explained, sounding as if she has done this way too many times before.
Debbie walked past the adoptive father and daughter duo to open the door. She opened the door and went inside the house. The protagonists followed her in and the moment that they stepped into their new home, they felt something. It felt like a change. A good change for both of them.
They had stepped into the living room which was connected to the kitchen. The walls were painted a beautiful beige and the floor was made out of wood. There was a sectional couch in the corner and next to it was the bay window from earlier. There was a cabinet and on top of it was a TV.
"This is the living room. The couch is very comfortable from what I hear and over there is the kitchen. If you plan on doing anything in the kitchen, just don't burn anything. I had to replace everything in there several times already." Debbie explained as she pointed with her pen.
Macaque listened as Bei Da held his hand.
The kitchen had a bar stand with two chairs where they could sit down and eat. There was a microwave, an oven, a fridge, cabinets, and counters. The child prayed that her six-eared friend wouldn't burn anything in there. They were led into the hallway where two doors could be seen.
"The door in front of us is the bedroom and the door on the left side is the bathroom. The only thing in the bedroom is the mattress so I suggest that you buy a bed frame." The landlord explained.
