Chapter 17: The Fight On Flower Fruit Mountain

"Hey Monkey King? Are you home?" MK asked as he nervously knocked on Wukong's door.

"Maybe he isn't home?" Mei replied.

MK was at Flower Fruit Mountain to apologize to Sun Wukong for yelling at him three weeks ago. He brought Mei for emotional support because he didn't know how everything would turn out with Monkey King.

"Yeah, you're probably right-"

"Bud? Uh..whatcha doing here?" The golden-furred monkey asked as he cut off his successor.

"Monkey King! Hey! So um...can we talk?"

"Of course, but uh.. is this about the whole samadhi fire incident?"

"No! Of course not! We've talked about it multiple times before! Why would I want to talk to you about it again?"

"Well, Mei is here. I guessed that it must have been something to do with the samadhi fire."

The brunet haired boy looked at his friend and then back at his predecessor.

"Oh, well I see what you mean! But I'm not here to talk about that. I wanna talk about the little yelling incident from three weeks ago." MK said as lowered his head after saying the last bit.

"You wanna talk about that?" Monkey King asked as he tilted his head.

"Yeah, I know that I probably should have done it much more differently and you have every right to be mad at me. I just want to come here and apologize to you, so I'm sorry, Monkey King."

"Mad? The only thing I'm mad about is when a pack of wolves nearly tore me apart the other day!"

"What?" MK and Mei said in unison.

"I mean they only attacked me because I had some gross uncooked chicken thrown at me." The Monkey King answered.

"That just makes things even more confusing!" Mei exclaimed.

"I know! I know! It's super weird, but anyways you don't have to apologize for yelling at me. I've been yelled at before a lot! You should know this, bud!" He said.

"Ah right, right." His successor replied. "Well we better get going now-"

He was cut off by a little white monkey screeching and running toward Sun Wukong. It climbed the taller monkey and started chirping. Wukong's expression shifted from confusion to seriousness.

"Are you sure that he's actually here?"

The little white monkey cub chirped back.

"Uh...Monkey King? Who's here?"

"Macaque. He's here with the kid."

Everything went silent. It was like time stopped just hearing that.

"The audacity of that guy. MK, I'll be back."

"Wait! Monkey King-"

Unfortunately, the king summoned his cloud and left his successor alone with his friend.

"I..."

"It's okay, MK! We'll get to him-"

"UGH! HE CAN'T LISTEN TO ME TO SAVE HIS LIFE!" MK angrily yelled to himself as he cut off Mei from speaking.

"MK! Dude, you gotta calm down! We'll get to Macaque and the Bean Girl before Monkey King, alright?" She said as she put both of her hands on Xiaotian's shoulders.

A bit shocked, but he nodded in agreement. The successor pulled himself together and went after his predecessor with the dragon girl.
