Chapter 17

"Gravity feels like an undertow pulling me down,"

"Can I go next?" I say raising my hand.

"Ofcourse you can!"

"I've been thinking about this since I was little but it didn't become clear to me until Jiro and I spent time together. I want to be the type of hero that can shine as bright as the sun, a hero who is courageous, strong, and dependable. That's why I want to be, 'The mermaid hero: Siren'," I say passionately to the class.

Midnight smiles at me at me, "It's perfect." I let out a sigh of relief and go to sit down.

"I applaud your choice y/n. But do tell me, why did you mention Jiro up there?" Tokoyami asks.

"Well you see me and Jiro went to watch the new little mermaid movie last weekend, and there was a moment where Jiro said that I was like her, like Ariel I mean, and I know it might sound dumb but I really connect to Ariel, so I wanted to keep her spirit alive through my hero career. I don't know, I know it doesn't make sense but it's a feeling of connection I can't explain."

"Okay,"

"Okay?"

"Okay," Tokoyami nods.

"King explosion murder!" Bakugo said.

"King expl*si*n m*rder? You probably shouldn't use something like that." Midnight shot down and I was lowkey concerned but also not because it was Bakugou we were talking about, he is anger personified.

"Why not?!"

"You should be "Explosion Boy"!"

"Shut up, Weird Hair!"

And with that our day moved on with everyone picking names and laughing. After living past all the events to come, I'm glad for moments like these where we could laugh.

"Hey Katsuki!"

The blonde male turns around with the same pissed face I see everyday in class. "What the fuck do you want?"

"Gasp, now that is no way to talk to a friend, katsuki" I say smiling.

"Shut up, dumbass," he says as the doors open to get on the train. Bakugou steps onto the train, then he looks at me, "Are you coming or not?"

"What are you talking about Katsuki, I'm staying in Musutafu for my internship. You're going to Hosu,"  I say and begin to see a confused look on Katsuki's face.

"What?"

"Yea I mean if I had chosen Mirko then we would be heading the same way but oh well. I just came by to say bye," As I finish talking the doors start to close and katsuki is still standing there bewildered as the doors close between us, I wave bye as the train starts to move.

As I watch the train go, I see smoke come out of the train car and notice it shook a little. I just sigh and think to myself, "Katsuki, you're so weird,"

I arrive at Ryukyu's agency the next day ready to start my internship. I take a deep breath and am about to walk in before someone yells behind me, "Omgosh is that you, y/n?!"

I look back and recognize her as one of my fans? She had long periwinkle hair and blue eyes, she was an obvious beauty with sunshine energy. She looked older than me maybe one or two years so, but she was so much shorter.

"Hi y/n!! I didn't expect to see you here! You must be here for the hero course's first year internship, follow me I'll show you to Ryukyu! She's awesome and kind and so humble, she's literally so fetch!"
